Why is it that the girls in this series are drawn so well and Tenchi looks so...odd? He doesn't seem to be as detailed or as "cute" as the other characters. Why do you think this was done? I'm assuming it was intentional, but I don't really see a reason for it, you know?

Yes, I spotted that too.

Tenchi has a round kinda face, while everyone else has very detailed faces.

Noboyuki, Tenchi father, has kinda the same face though...

Maybe that's how they think teenage boys should be drawn.. :eek:

Well, I think the main creater of the characters and head producer probably had intentions of making Tenchi the main person that focuses around the show and all the girls love, so I would think that even if they did draw him even more butt-ugly, they'd still drool over him... Hehe ^^;

I think Tenchi is a nobody and all of a sudden he "magically" gains the power to draw women too him...
(I'm lucky I have that power, hehehe...)

maybe it's cos the artist didn't know how to draw a cute male, or just didn't wanna make a character that appeals to only certain tastes. Also having girls IRL falling in love with him may not have been what the writer/artist wanted...

Did you ever seethe episode where they show Tenchi's mom and she looks just like him. Boy that was scary. But I agree that it does probably have to do with the fact that he's supposed to be "average joe." ALthough the girls are probably drawn with the intent to make guys horny. At leas Mihoshi. She's like an alien Pam Anderson Lee. Shudder.

yeah, i guess they want to make it out that tenchi is just the average teenage boy. if he was drawn well, i mean, handsome then he would be perfect... he has the personality, he's kind and all and if he has the face, too, everyone would be drooling over him. :B:

um well let me think... The way I see it, looks are part of the person and help make them up. If someone tells me I'm ugly, I agree, I don't get depressed, I dont argue. I have known a lot of people that were good all through and were very beautiful. Very rarely do I come across a hollywood stereotype of good looking stuck up bitch.

A person who is nothing but self-conscious, isn't very attractive in or out. A person who tells another what they can and can't judge upon, prolly isn't really the sorta person inside that I would want to know.

Inner beauty doesn't really exist. Members have said a million times that you can never truely know a person, or understand them etc etc. So if ya can't truely know what another person is on the inside, then how can u possibly love their insides? when teh outside we can all SEE and judge. Good looks are only an interpretation, anyone can be good looking, if a guy/girl doesn't like ur appearance they can ---- off, obviously they weren't the ones for u. Stop wasting time. U may as well call them shallow for all the difference it'll make..

It's just that he's surrounded by people with outrageous haircuts and colors. Tenchi's kind of like TinTin (from the Belgian comic), with few outstanding features, except for all the Jurai power. Just as long as Tenchi doesn't grow up to look like his dad...:vader:
