Has anyone ever considered that Excel almost NEVER says anything useful? I have about five friends who believe this as well as me. We're all only to through the 4th dvd, but so far, she has NEVER said anything useful. We all DEMAND a mute button for Excel Excel. Either that or have Koboyashi sum up everything she says. So useless

Yes Excel says the most stupid things but at times she makes sense.

At times I dont even get half the things she says . .

Is it me or is the English VA a faster speaker then the Jap VA?

Fine I'll be the token Excel fanboy...

GO EXCEL YEAH!!!!

Excel gets some of the best lines in the series, the constant wordplay/puns etc make for needing your full attention.

"There is only one earth! If it splits, there are two!"

Makes perfectly sense to me....

It has been a while since i have seen the Show, But you will all be in for a surprise in this episode. Excel says some of of the most thought provoking and "usefull" things ever in this episode. This is the episode that defines the show, all of the randomness seen through out the show is resolved(for the most part). I was fustrated a little at the show because of the shows non-linear plot line. But after this episode it all came in to focus and made this series a joy to watch a second time. Then there is Episode 26... Yeah... Ep 26.....

I keep watching it because when she shuts up and starts shooting, things tend to go for better or worse, but plot development and passive lesbianism and PRAISEMEPRAISEMEPRAISEME happen. It's hilarious. I admit, when she is talking at a normal pace, it is MUCH funnier to me (IE: "I love you so ....ing much..."). passive lesbianism has to be the funniest thing I've ever seen XD.

And, I am up through DVD 4. :: opens wallet, moths flock out :: broke :: sigh ::

Well I don't think that that everything Excel says is useless, but I think she just says it too long. Instead of saying "I like apples" she would say something like;

"Excel's favourite fruit that grows on trees is the fruit that comes in 3 colours depending on the season. The colours are red green and yellow. Sometimes they have worms growing in them and sometimes they don't. And do you know what fruit I'm talking about? Its apples. Excel likes apples. Big Juicy apples..."

And this is what makes Excel so great. If you can't understand her then she can be very annoying, but if you can then her character really shows.
