View Full Version : Would Hellsing make a good live action movie?

I think it would be good if they have the right actors and directors to make the movie but the plot would probably be changed a little though.
Hmmm... For once I'm intrested, instead of disgusted like usual, by the thought of an anime live movie (what's the "official" term for a film with actors btw?). T'would probably be decent and you couldn't even tell t'was based on an anime unless somebody messed up big-time.

as long as they have a decent budget and it isn't some direct to video crap...and it doesn't turn into what Blade did
I've thought about this on a few occasions and I think it would be pretty feasible. It's one of the easier anime to transfer to western audiences because their aren't many Japanese cultural references.
PLease don't let the Queen Of The Damned script writers near it though. They should all be shot
no...

Becareful what you wish for...
I would hate Hellsing to be come a LA series...

I would like to see Quinten Terantino directing it. Since he did do a good job with that movie From Dusk Till Dawn.

I could see it being done. Church groups wouldn't be happy though

Hmmmmm, I don't thinks so. I finally managed to see the full movie of FDTD the other day and while enjoyable, I don't think Tarantino's style would suit Hellsing.

Church groups won't be happy AT ALL. But they did allow for Stigmata and the Exorcist to come out, so....maybe it has a chance.
Have you noticed how older films focuced more on the actual horrific nature of a scene rather than cool special effects, like they do now?

I hate that. It's so annoying that movies are becoming more about how cool their special effects can look rather than the story.

Nah, knowing Hollywood types, LAHellsing would be a definite breed apart from the original source - all in the name of making money.
Me, I'll rather stick To Francis Ford Coppola's version of Bram Stoker's Dracula

Bah. Give the directing job to Tim Burton (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Burton,+Tim) and have Tarantino (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Tarantino,+Quentin) write it. Get the perfect mix of the creepy and the explosive.
heres a note...
Does any one really care what the church groups think?

I would have to agree, that film is just about the only good hollywood vampire flick out there....... other than the original Nosferatu film. And on the issue, I think that Hellsing might have a decent chance, but as I say this I know deep in the back of my head that the movie would befall the same fate as Fist of the North Star and all of the video games that have been made into movies. I still shudder at the thought of Mortal Kombat Annhilation and Street Fighter The Movie.

And think of this: Who would play Alucard?

Maybe Buffy's James Masters.

If he were younger, I'd say Christopher Walken for Alucard. Something about him makes me think of Alucard and vice versa.
And if there ever were a movie, I want a fan behind the camera. I'm really hyped about the Hellboy movie since Del Toro is a huge Hellboy fan and had Mignola working with him. Hell, they're trying to create new ways of showing black on screen to match Mignola's art! That's dedication to the source. If only Schumacher, or even Burton were fans like that!
