I was wondering what exactly was in the cask containing the Forest Spirit's (Deer God) head. Is that stuff the blood of the Forest Spirit or is some kind of perservant? If already asked please refer me to the link and get rid of this one. Any replies I would very much appreciate. Since me and my brother have been arguing over it.

I think it was blood or something that oozed out of the Forest Spirit because when Ashitaka and San help the casket over there head when they were giving the head back to the Dreamwalker (? thats the name right) some of that ooze dripped onto them and gave them the same curse Ashitaka had on his arm.

Well anyway I havent watched Mononoke for a while so I could be wrong

orochi is right. When Jiko puts the head into the cask, it is dry inside. And of course the effects are god-like.

That's what I thought when I watched it(and I watched it 5 or 6 times for a report for Honors English)

and it's Nightwalker.. :P

That was the stuff the Nightwalker's made of. The fear in the forest spirit's mind before its death caused the head to blob up.

Has anyone noticed that Miyazaki seems to have a bit of a thing with goey stuff like that? There was some in Howl's Moving Castle as well, and Spirited Away
