Scared Takumi

Now in the first few episodes when Iketani is driving Itsuki and Takumi uphill to the summit. Iketani is showing off his skills and Takumi is in the back screaming and being scared.

Now why would he be scared?

Is it because his afraid that Iketani is a bad driver and might crash or is it some elaborate plan to hide his true identity of a kickass roadracer?

Takumi was scared of Iketani's driving and probably thought they'd crash.

He was scared for the same reason Iketani was scared when Takumi drove. Drastic differences in driving technique combined with not being the one controlling the drift. Sometimes even I get scared when riding shotgun with someone who is inexperienced with drifting. Its down right terrifying. Yet I can ride shotgun with my regular drifting buddy and fall asleep. Difference being I know what he is capable of and his techniques are not that different than mine. Except that i can brake drift and he cant. Point for him being that he can come out of any drift and save both car and rider. I usually end up breaking something when forced to come out of drift early

Akaflakes has a point there and I agree, when you don't know anything about the drivers' driving(techniques), skills and capabilities, it's quite normal that you're scared.

My point of view (this is what I thought at first):

Takumi probably thought Iketani's 'drift' and his fast driving wasn't really under control, Iketani wasn't really controlling his car as his own arms and legs and probably more based on luck rather than skills unlike Takumi himself.
Btw, did you also noticed that Takumi was scared when Itsuki was driving? I can't really say that his (Itsuki) driving was total control either.

Hmm, I dont really remember exactly how Takumi reacted but I do recall a part where Itsuki was recklessly driving to scare Takumi into saying stuff about him and Mogi.
