Would it surprise you to know that Shirow is a gun fanatic....? Most of the gun designs that he uses in his manga are based on weapons IRL (with the exception of the Seburo Gong I think)...,
The FN P-90 was first issued in 1990..., the original Japanese GiTS manga ran from 1991-2...,
