Record of Lodoss War

Ive just found a new video shop near my place w/c has a good selection of anime (whew! finally! :D)

anyway, i just borrowed the first two volumes of Record of Lodoss War and i feel like i've missed something - it seems that there should be an ep/s or an OVA before it since the main characters all appeared on the first ep (1 tape has 4 eps)

so for those of u who have seen RoLW, could you fill me in as to what i've missed?

Yeah I know what you mean, I bought the Boxed OAV DVD set, the first ep is actually set around ep 5, I watched the bonus making of it and the reason they put it first was because there was a massive launch party in Japan with a mass Screening and there was a large outcry to see all of the characters as well as the magic/monsters etc. So at the Pre Release they Screened that episode first. Its a great series though, it was just to get the crowd into it and show off all of the characters as well as some of the better monsters and magic skills

hmmm... since i wont be able to access the net for most of the week due to my ISP's upgrades, i'll just have to visit that video shop :lol:

I didn't really like the TV series version of Lodoss War. It was too different from the OVAs. I rented like half of the tv series and just got tired of it. I hated those little things at the end of each episode where they had like kid versions of parn and deedlit summing up the story. They were kindof funny at first, but then they got just plain annoying. So I quit renting them, but I loved the OVAs.

..hehe...(Hayashi's #1 fan, deshi..) I thought the Lodoss Island bits were funny as hell...kinda akin 'ta Kero-chan's Corner, but with SD overkill... O.O

Hey, anybody here that Niyama Shiho (Deedlit's seiyu) died in Febuary 2000. I don't know who is going to replace Deedlit. She was a great seiyu and so young too. 29 years old. Did anybody hear of that?

oh, you mean the SD part? kind'a cute - voices are ok for the sub, but the dub gives me goosebumps :lol:

so how long is the series? how many eps?

For Record of Loddoss wars, there are 27 episodes.

27 eps huh? well, since i've got thishabit of finishing what i start, i'm really gonna finish the series - im already at the part where Spark meets with Parn and the Canaan free army

I downloaded some record of lodoss war game for my Super Nintendo(super famicom) emulator. It's all in japanese so I don't know what's going on, but you play as the grey witch, and I somehow switched bodies with someone.

what kind'a game is it? :D

It's an rpg. It starts with like 6 heroes or something, I remember they talk about it in the OVA but I can't remember it very well. I know the king of valis and the king of marmo were some of the people there and so was the grey witch. It takes place before the whole parn thing.

thought so... but i have this rule which makes me stay away from RPG's they can be VERY addictive, the first and last time i played an RPG (might and magic VI)- i went 50+ hrs straight dont wanna do that again!

Wow. I've had problems like that before too (but not as severe), but I didn't with this one because i didn't know what was going on since it's all in japanese.

Hehe, yeah, probably. It's even worse when it's an rpg on computer because then it hurts my eyes from staring for so long.

dont you have tht screen shield thingy? prevents the :nuke: from hurting your eyes or doesnt it?

They start to hurt because I sit here for so long without blinking and my contacts get all dried out and stuff.

well i dont use contcts, so i dont know how it feels :)
