If I rememebered correctly, there was a thread like this but it is best kept dead as members here are comfortable as the way Cowboy Bebop ended.
Tensiga (Shouldn't that be Tenseiga), why don't you calm down to begin with. If I caught you being disruptive again, then it'll be your second warning.

Why would a sequel make the difference between someone liking Cowboy Bebop or not liking it?

I just have a quick question: Why is everyone worried that sequel would be bad? What would be wrong with continuing. True, Bebop's "perfect ending" would lose its emotional impact, but all in the greater good for a kick-ass sequel. Don't you guys have faith that Wantanabe will deliver us a great sequel? After all, he's the one who gave us the great Bebop movie KOHD. I believe that a sequel could be done. Or a prequel. Either way makes no difference to me.IMO, a sequel would be more interesting and challenging just because most people are assuming that the series would be ruined because of it. Personally, I hope there is a sequel. Let's all just relax a bit. As our good ole boy Spike said "What ever happens, happens." Honestly, I am just glad that more Bebop is being made!:D

Are sequels ever has good as what they follow? Well their are minorities (face it Short Circuit 2 was better than the 1st) a majority of the time they just plan out suck, aside from that Cowboy Bebop sets a really high standard for plot, characters, action, and music can it be topped? If not then what is the point of a sequel other than screwing things up with a 2nd rate plot?!

Let See Here, Good Sequels:
The Godfather Part II
Terminator 2
Rush Hour 2
Aliens
Back to the Future 2
Coming soon: Matrix 2!!! Seen the trailer for it. Kicks major butt!!!
Need I say more?:D People, a Bebop sequel wouldn't be the end of the world. I can't believe the lack of faith that some of the people here have?!! As for the music, are you saying that Yoko Kanno can't do even better than her previous Bebop music? Geez, no confidence in her what-so-ever. I'm just baffled. This possibly could be the best thing that could happen for Bebop and everyone here is shakey and nervous that sequel could ruin things. I hope that a sequel is done. I HAVE CONFIDENCE IN WANTANABE. I know that he can deliever a great sequel if he choses to go that route.

We're not saying that Wantanabe and Ms. Kanno can't do it, it's just that the story leaves very little room for a sequel. aybe a different story with different people? Maybe a prequel? Or maybe the adventures of Jet and Cowgirl Ed? Who knows.

Well, FayeFayeV, it sounded like most people were doubting them, so sorry If Imisunderstood. I think that a sequel would be more challenging and intersting than a prequel. A prequel is more or less taking the safe route so that the "perfect ending" won't be ruined. Me personally, I believe that there are some loose ends to tie in Bebop, albeit not many, but enough to start off the sequel. If I was Wantanabe, I would be excited that people are doubting that a sequel won't be as a good as the original. Almost like adding fuel to the fire. If the sequel becomes success, Bebop's popularity will rise even higher. It would have defied the odds that most sequels aren't up to snuff compared to the original. Heck Bebop, would be held as legendary status. Just imagine if this is pulled off. We should IMO root for the sequel and just let Wantanabe do his thing. Who is say that he can't come up with something better than the original.

well the reason there should be a sequal is because simply the first season is too short
Schizm

Short? It's the standard 26 episodes to screen over 26 weeks series......You want to stretch Bebop out like DragonBall Z? Have each fight scene take 10 episodes to complete. You are a ------- moron :)
