Initial D Third Stage World Premiere at BAAF (2003-04-18 11:58:18)
The Big Apple Anime Fest has announced it will host the world premiere of the English dub of the theatrical film Initial D: Third Stage the Movie. The film is a direct continuation of the Initial D Second Stage TV show. Source: ANS [ No More ]

So they've dubbed the movie, does this mean the series has been dubbed or did they just decide to dub the movie first and do the rest later?

For as long as it is taking TokyoPop to release the dubs for Initial d I wouldnt be surprised if they dont already have all of it dubbed.

Possibly, why would they release third stage before the series? The whole Takumi and Mogi thing would lose it's strength to the new viewers. All I know is that I'm unaware of any dubs.

are you sure that's the dub and not the sub bc. i checked out the BAAF site and read this:

"New York, March 17, 2003 - Big Apple Anime Fest (BAAF) is proud to announce that the festival will host the world premiere of the theatrical English subtitled version of " Initial D: The Movie " on August 29th, 7:00pm at Loews State Theater (Virgin Megastore) in New York City's Times Square."

and i found this on the site, too:

"New York, New York - April 21, 2003: The Big Apple Anime Fest (BAAF), the world's largest anime film festival, proudly announces that famed anime director & producer Mr. Ren Usami will appear as a Guest of Honor at the Big Apple Anime Fest 2003, taking place this Labor Day Weekend in Times Square, New York City (August 29 to 31, 2003). His latest work, Initial D: The Third Stage, is one of the best hits in the U.S. Mr. Usami will be appearing at the Initial D World Premiere on Friday, August 29th, to introduce the movie, and answer questions from the audience after the premiere."
