I cant believe that there arent that many Initial D fans here on AB, the only active posters here are me, akaflakes, ParticleEffect, Steath and random visits by Blade, yashi, Evangelion-00, and now daniel480 (Im sure there are some more but I forget)
Is Initial D one of those animes which are hard to get a hold of? Well hopefully when Tokyopop release Initial D we will get more posters here because to be honest Im really running out of threads to post ..

There were more Initial D fans at AB but I think they dont post much anymore. I wish Fasad would post some more. Id love to chat about cars with him some more.
I am also waiting on Tokyopops release of Initial d to generate more posters. We will just have to moderate them to use the Jap names instead of those evil US names. We could be like Initial D world and threaten to break their thumbs if they use those stupid names. :)
I was wondering when you would run out of topics to post about. Im pretty good at not letting a thread die without running it to death but I cant think of any threads to post myself or else I would be a thread whore like you orochi. Dont you have like have of the threads in this forum anyway. :)
g'day
i've not seen initial-d, so there is not much i can say. just remember it's trueno, not tureno or treuno : )

I'm actually rewatching Initial D at the moment, and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
There's just no one to discuss anything really, so I dunno. Maybe there is a need to publicize Initial D a bit more.

Well, I only drift (teehee) into this forum once or twice a week. Lack of threads isn't that bad though, I'd prefer a straight forward story to some ---- like Evangelion anyday. Initial D's straight forward story doesn't lend itself so much towards being confused, therefor, there are less questions from confused people.
I don't know though, I kind of wish tokyopop would just give the rights to someone else. "Americanizing" anime is just done by lame ass companies looking to maximize profit and the expence of integrity. And they have the ------- balls to keep the manga format from right to left, after CHANGING THE ------- NAMES, and say how "authentic" they are. It's not even just the name changes -it's also ad-libing to fill speach bubbles- or for whatever the hell reason they have. gah, lol. oh well. Initial D will go mainstream with new music, names and diologue, everyone will start trying to drift their moms corrola, new laws will be made to stop the "post Initial D" street drifting sceen that will develop ala-FNF, drifting will become what "street racing" is now. ;(

street racing in most of the US is still a form of drag though, for lack of those curvy mountain roads.
Heck, I feel the need to learn how to drift after watching all that stuff. My friend is going to teach me sometime on a track nearby.
Anyone got any pointers?

Start slow(speed wise). Its easier if your back tyres are a little bald. Start in a wide open area turning and uping the speed until you gradually lose control of the rear. Counter steer to regain control. Do this until you feel that you have got the hang of this. Only then would I hit the track. I found that downshift or e-braking(i dont care if its not "real drifting") are the easiest ways to start a drift. Once you feel comfortable with drifting these ways only then would I go on to more advanced styles like brake drifting and "weight transfer drifting"
But before you do this make sure that your car is in decent shape. New brake pads are a must for a serious drift outing. Make sure all fluid levels are topped off and you may want to add a little bit more oil to the engine depending on what car you have. I know for a fact that the 240sx will kill itself eventually from prolonged exposure to autocrossing and drifting because normal oil levels are not enough. I would rather put a little too much oil in(1/2 quart) and be safe then run normal and put the engine at risk. Also be prepared to buy some new tyres after your outing. If you got the cash to spare I would go buy some cheapo tyres before hand for the rear and put them on before drifting. That way you save your daily driving tyres and ruin the crappy ones.
When drifting always wear your seat belt even if you think your godlike drifting skillz are 1337. Everyone eventually crashes when drifting. If you can get a helmet do so. Most of all have fun.

i really wish they didnt get rid of the euro trash...its actually pretty good....maybe they wont replace the music in hopes of surprising us ? maybe they will have a few new songs from the origial bands from the series ( Move and the others ) and have them do it in english ?
eh ..oh well ..akaflakes thanks for the advice...i know it was ment for someone else but im gona use it too ...
putting extra oil into the engine is generally not good. if the oil level reaches the swing of the crankshaft, it will aerate the oil (bad).
the problem is inadequate pickup rather than not enough oil. normal cars just aren't made to be thrown around (much).

But what would you rather have. A little too much oil that would keep things from burning up but you have to fix the oil level when done or not enough oil(because of inadequate pickup) and possibly damage the engine and cause excessive heating problems which would end an otherwise fun drifting day. Every mechanic that I know has answered the same way. They would rather have just a little bit more. Just dont overfill it with way too much oil. more than 1 quart would fall in this category.
Your going to keep me on my toes arent you Fasad. :)
I thought you knew how to drift Steath. The invitation is open if you ever decide to come down for some fun. Ill have you drifting like a decent rookie when you get done for the day. BTW there are way more pointers than what Ive said. Look around on the net to find many different ideas to learn how to drift. I just think thats the best way to start if you dont really know what your doing.
