Oh, very nice. Very nice. I'm picking up all sorts of things that I didn't from the fansub.
This ep is an excellent example of what .hack//SIGN is, and how hard it is to explain.
Perhaps the best way to point out something SIGN has is point out a series that DOESN'T have it. In most series, characters ONLY interact in limited combinations.
Case in point...Star Trek - Next Generation. Dr. Beverly Crusher and Counselor Troi never have a conversation. I'm not talking some relationship, friendship, whatever. They don't even TALK to each other. As friends, as shipmates, as some of the few women with "rank" (if doctor and counselor are that) on the ship.
With .hack//SIGN, everyone talks to each other, and everyone acts different in different combinations. I find this fascinating.
On to the series. Forgive me, I'm not entirely sure on the order of these events.
Spoilers.

Bear's family life is a freaking mess. He split from his son and wife a while back, unable to cope. We see the son trying to hooch some money for a car (5,000 dollars) from Bear in The World. He mentions that the father and son interact more in The World than in reality.
Tsukasa walks in as the son is leaving, and is embarassed at intruding, though Bear welcomes the interuption. However, Bear pries just a bit too much into Tsukasa's life. (Looking for information on the Key of the Twilight) and Tsukasa, upset, leaves.
B.T. and Bear discuss things (B.T. knows Bear in real life, about his family, and his job. "Is it your deadline?") Bear, interestingly enough, has his head in her lap in this scene. Given she talks about trying to up her relationship with Crim in real life during this, this makes Bears and B.T's relationship, complex.
They discuss information acquired regarding that mysterious post from long ago, who might of sent it, etc. They think it means that whoever sent it is waiting _in the game_ for someone to find where they are at. Whether this is an NPC with the odd power to post messages, or the Author of the Game (The God of The World) they don't know.
B.T. psychoanalizes Bear, telling him that he's being a father-figure to Tsukasa because he blew being a father in the real world. He should just admit it, and deal with it.
Tsukasa tries to contact Subaru, but is blocked by Silverknight. It's pretty clear that he thinks there's romantic tension between the two of them, and he wants it to stop, NOW. "If you return her feelings, please leave. Subaru's heart is burdened enough." 'Return' her feelings?
B.T. and Crim discuss similar things about the message. Oddly, Crim seems to be naked. (He is waist-up, and there's strategic rock-croppings in the way for everything below.) Have they been engaging in naughty cyber things? Crim is all for fighting the God of the World, and all against having a real-life romantic relationship with B.T. He wants The World to stay a fantasy. B.T. is resentful, and asks if he feels the same way about Subaru.
Mimiru and Bear talk about Tsukasa. Seems Tsukasa didn't meet up with Mimiru as planned because of the incident with Bear. Bear mentions his mistake, and asks Mimiru if she can "do something about it." She scolds him, telling him that if he screwed up with Tsukasa, he needs to do something about it. She also mentions she got an e-mail from Helba.
Subaru is on her boat and sees Tsukasa standing on a bridge overhead. They engage in psychic nerd foreplay for about 30 seconds, until Subaru's boat goes under the bridge. When she emerges on the other side, Tsukasa is gone. She carresses the bridge railing where he was at for a bit, while Silverknight tries to voice his displeasure without voicing his displeasure.
Mimiru and Tsukasa talk in the Church. Everything's cool.
Mimiru and A-20 talk about Tsukasa. Mimiru figures out that she is Tsukasa's friend.
Subaru later talks with Bear, and transfers what she wants onto Bear, by telling Bear that he should allow connections with Tsukasa, that she believes that's all he wants. "Regardless of one's responsibilities" (Subaru? Sweety? We're talking about _Bear_ here, remember?)
SilverKnight is spying on them, and driving himself nuts with jealousy.
Things in the real world blow up even more inbetween Bear's player and his son.
While going to meet Mimiru, Bear opens up to Tsukasa.
