I like the series, it's a good political drama, but if you can't look past the slow and boring bit then I think you should give it a miss. Behind the exterior is actually a very good story, but sadly, a lot of people don't like to waist money on something that goes so slow.

Well kindred350, you obviously don't like this anime. So I doubt if you like any anime built on thoughtfulness and intrigue. If you don't have that amount of patience then you shouldn't bother with Gasaraki. So there.

Geez, does this guy like anything?

it's pretty good, but not your typical mecha anime :)

As already mentioned it's a political anime more than mecha anime really.

I found the first couple of episodes pretty slow/boring at first but once i got into it i started to quite enjoy it :)

It's a dystopian satire.

From what I've seen they're attempting to use the Gasaraki to bring back "the noble savages" of the past. Anyway it started off very promising, and it still looks it. Now that Yushiro and Miharu are on their way to Kyoto.

I think you are looking into it a little too deeply, Poloktim... :heh:

 I probably am. But I don't think that's too much of a problem, I'm able to see where certain aspects of the show are coming from.

Anyway, last night's episode was OMG material. Can't wait to see the next one.

How, the heck is this a dystopian satire, nor doe your explaination of why its a dystopian satire match the definition. First before i even explain, lets look at the literal translation of what you said:

dys·to·pi·a ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ds-tp-)
n.
An imaginary place or state in which the condition of life is extremely bad, as from deprivation, oppression, or terror.
A work describing such a place or state: “dystopias such as Brave New World” (Times Literary Supplement).

[I]sat·ire ( P ) Pronunciation Key (str)
n.

A literary work in which human vice or folly is attacked through irony, derision, or wit.
The branch of literature constituting such works. See Synonyms at caricature.
Irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose folly, vice, or stupidity.

First if you ever watched the series, the Kai clan wielded the power to summon demons as weapons to bring order to japan, the Gowa family are decendents of this clan, and now wish to regain that control again (these demons arent noble, they are weapons of destruction and fear). And BTW the kai summon the 'gasaraki' not the gasaraki summon demons.
