I got my hands on volume 6 today and although not the best volume it was definately better than the last couple. So far I've watched it subbed only so no thoughts on dub or vid notes as yet.
The final volume consists of some rather well done episodes. The first is the wacky finale of all the puchuu references and is very funny, it is obviously making blatant parody of space animes (I don't know what the are though :p) and probably the best puchuu episode all round and gives enough incentive to buy the final volume for this episode alone. However the first five minutes is recaps.
Episodes 23-25 are a three part story arc to finish the series and as are done for the most part seriously. Don't worry although the ep's story/acting are serious it is intentially overdone to the point of camp/parody so it is still funny
Episode 26 comes after the events of ep 25 but could fall anywhere realy in the series, there is no real plot but rather a mix-up of some sickeningly funny scenes put together. Be warned the Shioji lolita complex probably provides the majority of the MA15+ rating!
All in all depsite that is Excel did hit a lull mid series overall I loved it and am glad to have the six volumes sitting in my 'book'shelf. The best excel volume in a while, and a great finish to the series. Buy it.
