View Full Version : RahXephon AMV's
Has anyone here seen any RahXephon anime music videos....well good ones anyway.
Anyway I decided to see what videos are out for it and their was about 16 listed at this site I'm not aloud to mention thats all about amvs. So they all have like an opinion or two and one had over 100 (which is alot) and the vid came out like the first of April and it's consistantly gotten high scores of 9's and 10's thoughout those 100 + reviews.
Anyway it's called Euphoria and the song used is Frou Frou - Must Be Dreaming. So has anyone seen that amv or any other good ones for RahXephon?
I've seen that one. The production quality of that video is VERY high, with fantastic use of dynamic insert windows. I can tell that a lot of work went into it. There is an incredible amount of movement in the video.
Unfortunately, the song itself was rather poor--one of those nasal "faux-artistic" pop songs with annoying background synth beats. I hope whoever made this one will produce another video using a better song ;)

I've seen the Euphoria video as well. It IS good. I even thought it was an officially made video, not a fan AMV. (Is it really made by amateurs?! Really?!!!)
I agree with 3line, the windows effect is VERY cool. The song fits the video itself very well with its techno-popish beat. Not my favorite song, but I liked it in the video.
And I think there aren't any spoilers in it at all. (Well there may be some Mu related spoilers, I'd have to see it again.)
I've only seen one other Rahxephon AMV which I can't remember the name of and I deleted because it was just mediocre, so not much help there.
This looks like a series with LOTS of spoiler potential, so I'm staying away from watching AMVs until I'm done.
When I say the big amv site we all know what site I'm talking about right?
Well guys it depends on our music taste if we like the song choice or not, not having heard the song or seen the AMV I can't really give an opinion.
Anyway here's some information on the video you guys might find interesting.

Can you take it?
This is my most ambitious video yet, and possibly the one I’ve placed the most effort on. Euphoria is the first part of a two-part video series I have planned with a central theme of dreaming. The second is to come later this year. Anyways, the video itself is quite a technical achievement for myself and surpasses all my videos thus far. It can also serve as an introduction to a fairly under-rated anime, RahXephon. However, it is still a drama video and contains quite a bit of symbolism.
The video itself centers on Kamina Ayato and his relationship to the two leading women in the anime, Haruka and Reika. The video can be looked upon as a dream within a dream for Kamina. There were plenty of moments in RahXephon that made it seem dream-like so I knew that it was possible to make this happen.
The song. The song and its lyrics immediately entranced me. It also flowed so well that I could practically see the video taking shape to it.

Pay close attention
Don’t listen to me from now
George’ll be flying this one
And it’s anyone’s guess how he does
This is the right turn, wrong universe
Taking me in full bloom
Fireball, careful with that there
See what you made me do
I must be dreaming or
We’re onto something
I must be dreaming for
I don’t fall in love lawlessly
I must be dreaming or
Pinch me to waking
So undeniably yours
As long as I’m losing it so completely
Incendiary glance
Be come and collide in me
<zoom in> <enhance> <hold>
While I go helplessly
Sky high, magic eye
Sugar rushing
Don’t <stop>
I must be dreaming or
We’re onto something
Hey just whatcha make me for
I don’t fall in love lawlessly
I must be dreaming or
Pinch me to waking
So undeniably yours
As long as I’m losing it so completely
Euphoria
I can’t take, anymore of yah
I’m losing it

Enjoy!
Interesting to see that another dreamstate amv will be coming from him, I posted a fake opinion of this vid (I'll fix that after I see it) to read what other people have said about it (100 + opinions with most scores over 9 is well amazing) and I think he told someone he spent 40 hours on this. He also created the special effects in some program.
Also a few people who said they couldn't stand RahXephon said they loved the video as well.
Yeah this videos is really good. Technically I find it hard to name something better. Overall it doesn't come close to my favourites, but then I've always been a fan of simplicity. I admire the skill it takes to produce something as complex as this video, but the actual effects don't do a lot for me. I definately recommend checking it out though.

I watched the video again and it still amazes me. Its also easier to notice the different layers used if you watch it over and over. And I really like the song now. It grows on you.
You know, anime music videos have spoiled me. I can't watch MTV anymore. The REAL videos look like contrite, seen-it-all-before, crap. You know, semi-naked chicks writhing, hands flying, singer on the microphone. And I keep expecting anime to pop up or else I imagine "this series would go so well with this song and this scene fits this lyric...." Animated videos look so much cooler than the real thing to me now.
Why don't they all be like Daft Punk and make anime stuff!!!
I still prefer real music videos, personally. Not your crap MTV videos, but metal videos. I like watching people play their instruments.
(this post may contain spoilers) XD
you should go to concerts then, I mean video images are a different kind of medium where you can have access to a stream of images with the music that you couldn't normally have...
the Euphoria AMV is damn cooll... I remember commenting that I didn't see any spoilers in it as well... but a friend that I was watching it with pointed out a particular point that was probably a spoiler... although I argued that it wasn't the kind of series from which that particular shot could be considered as a really significant 'spoiler' as it is...
-- that was a shot of Haruka and Ayato kissing
because of the nature of the things that happen in relation to Rah Xephon and Kamina Ayato however, I think its quite plausible to say that such a thing doesn't really 'happen' :) just like when Rah Xephon and the Vermillion shoot each other... or the first time Ayato 'returns' to Tokyo Jupiter

:heh: Actually, I liked the music for this particular video, and no, to answer your initial question, Westlo, I haven't found any really good AMV's from RahXephon, aside from "Euphoria," which was positively amazing. I honestly thought that it was professionally made the first time I saw it... That was absolutely fantastic.
Just saw this music video and no ither amv video I've seen comes close to this video technically.
Didn't mind the song use as well.

Did you just see Euphoria?
It's a great AMV and has won awards to show it.

I must say that Euphoria really is a great video. The visuals in it are brilliant. It deserves to be right up there with as one of the greats
I also like "A God of Space and Time is Awakening". The Kinslayer by Nightwish. It may not be as good as Euphoria but it's still a powerful AMV.
I'll need to check that one out as well
Any other good Xephon vids out yet?
