How many OVA/movies/TV series? New OVA set in Paris?

I was just wondering how many OVA's, movies, TV series sakura wars has...i've read several sites but it seems that all the information there does not ...exactly tally :o

If it's not too much to ask please provide some information about that particular OVA/movie/series that is being listed..:D Thank you in advance!!

**Seems that there is a new Sakura Taisen OVA coming up? I have downloaded the first episode and it is set in Paris. I went to the official site (in japanese) and from what I can make out it says the 2nd episode is coming out mid-june...

I think even hardcore fans get super confused. I know I'm not clear on it. So I did a little research. So inlcuding every single anime and video game, here's the order in terms of plot continuity (not release dates):

Sakura Taisen OVA 1 ("Spirit Warriors", 4 episodes, sort of a prequel to the game)
Sakura Taisen Video Game
Sakura Taisen TV series (a retelling and extension of the game and OVA 1, so it overlaps OVA1 and game 1)

Sakura Taisen Video Game 2 (2 new characters are introduced)
Sakura Taisen OVA 2 ("Spirit Warriors Return" and "Wedding Bells", 6 episodes, includes the new characters, Ohgami is leaving for Paris)

Sakura Taisen the Moive (after Ohgami left for Paris, the team get a new leader who's female and deosn't mesh with the team all that well)

Sakura Taisen Video Game 3 Paris is Burning (Ohgami is sent to Paris to lead a new female team, but the old team do make an appearance too ^_^)
Sakura Taisen OVA 3 (Ecole de Paris, 4 eps, more side-stories with the Paris Team. This is the newest animation.)

Kanzaki Sumire OVA (or the full title: Sakura Taisen Sumire Kanzaki Intai Kinen ~Su Mi Re~, 1 episode, it basically commemorates the character Sumire leaving the Japan team. I'm not sure where this one fits in.)

So there are 4 OVA series with a total of 15 episodes (4/6/4/1), a 25 episode TV series, and 1 movie. I've read there are actually 5 Sakura Wars games (13 including spin-offs).


ADV have the OVA1 and 2, which they complied as the OVA Collection. They are also currently releasing the TV series. Pioneer will release the movie in September (in some theatres and on DVD, with pencilboards) and Funimation have the Sumire OVA and OVA3.

Why ADV didn't just buy it all when they had the chance I don't know.

Hmmm, I haven't seen the movie yet so I don't know. :o I know the little girl Iris and Maria the gun-slinger from the Tokyo team are blonde. There's a blonde girl in the Paris team as well, I don't know her name.

In the movie, the new captain of the Tokyo team is named Rachette Artile, she's American, and I *think* she's a brunette. I'm not positive though. Did you see the movie, cause then you would know much more about this than me. :D

Brunette? don't know...her hair is sort of like orangy brown..:D

I FINALLY got to see a pic of Rachette in the movie trailer and you're absolutely right, she is blonde. :D I can't wait to see this movie!
