Yep...finally watched it. Pretty good. High point - Characters are freaking wicked. Good development and style. Low point - well the ending kinda sucked...but I guess overall its just because I expected more action. The action was there...but just small parts to move the story along. Pretty good overall. This anime was a new experience and it was pretty good. I got some questions though:
1. I didn't get the rivalry thing between Subaru, his sister and Seishiro (?). What was up with that? I know there is more on this in TB but I'd rather hear it here first.
2. Kamui's mother killed herself as a Kagenie...I wasn't sure what Kagenie was and why she killed herself. Seriously...she just didn't HAVE to kill herself.
3. In the first episode, we see kamui stealing/taking a sword...y did he not have it for the rest of the series?
4. What was up with princess hinoto by the end...she got like multiple personalities due to her realization that she can't do anything about the future or am I wrong? She was the person summoning those agent ppl? if so, then why? and if not, then what was that all about?
K...I might get more qs...but neways, thats it for now. THX for any replies

The recent TB thread in this forum covered this question quite well, but I might as well answer here:
Back when Subaru was young, Seishirou made something of a deal with him that he would live with Seishirou for one year. If by the end of that year, Seishirou was in love with Subaru, he would let the boy live. If not, he'd kill him. Hokuto ends up living with the two as well (as she and Subaru were inseparable) and in the end, Seishirou apparently (or so he says) decided he did not love Subaru. Hokuto sacrificed herself in Subaru's place though, to give him a chance at happiness and finding himself. We all saw how well -that- worked.
Of course, it's a bit more complicated than that, but any more and I'd be summarizing Tokyo Babylon volume-by-volume.
2. Kamui's mother killed herself as a Kagenie...I wasn't sure what Kagenie was and why she killed herself. Seriously...she just didn't HAVE to kill herself.
Well, actually, she did. That's the point of a kagenie--they exist solely as sacrifices. Kamui's mother, Tohru, sacrificed herself for the Earth's sake. It's a symbolic gesture more than anything, I think. I don't quite understand the spiritual practices in X, so generally when it comes to things like onmyoujitsu and kagenie and inugami I just smile and nod.
3. In the first episode, we see kamui stealing/taking a sword...y did he not have it for the rest of the series?
The sword was to be used strictly for the fated day. It would be powerless until then, and powerless until Kamui had become...I guess self-aware would be the best way to put it. A lot of people ask why he didn't just run off with it when he fought Fuuma's father, but I think it's partially that a) he had no use for it yet and b) he must have had a change of heart, because Nataku was the one who ended up taking it. Remember, the sword from the very beginning ended up being Fuuma's.
4. What was up with princess hinoto by the end...she got like multiple personalities due to her realization that she can't do anything about the future or am I wrong? She was the person summoning those agent ppl? if so, then why? and if not, then what was that all about?
Okay, this is something that is glossed over in the anime and is only now being explored in the manga, so I can only give it my best shot:
Hinoto has always been at odds with herself, I think. Part of her wants to help the Dragons of Heaven and save the world, part of her...is just a nasty destructive bitch XD. When Daisuke (Aoki's nephew, her ward) died, it probably broke her psyche and weakened her spiritually/mentally enough that her "dark side" could take over. Now, the agents are a whole other question; though I've been reading X for ages and I've seen the entire TV series, I'm still kind of lost on that point. Yes, she was the one summoning them, but I'm not sure why. My best guess in the beginning is that she was testing Kamui and spying on him (which we know she did), and any encounters the other Dragons of Heaven had with them were accidental. If it's not that, then I have no idea.
Edited for massive sunburn-induced typos.

Thx. Cleared this up a bit for me. Maybe someone else would like to give this a try? Seems like the series doesn't explain well alot of the things that happen.

Kamui has a change of heart and decides to prove that he's worthy of holding the sword, so he doesn't take it from Fuuma's father. There's one line somewhere thrown out there that proves this, but I don't remember the episode number off the top of my head. Remember the scene where Kamui buys that can of something from the machine, and while he's drinking it Daisuke starts talking to him? Kamui said something to show that he'd decided to stay behind in order to prove that he's "Kamui", but darned if I can remember what he said.
Was that helpful?
Bah.
