Censorship

I hate the way Toonami censors Tenchi!! I have bought all the Tenchi uncut episodes, and i suggest you hardcore tenchi fans do also. Tenchi Muyo! and Tenchi Universe have alot of changes made so they can be show on toonami. A few examples are the infamous Washu Angel of Mercy scene in The Ryo-Oki special.(One of the funniest scenes in the entire series) And the references to "tea" which is really saki ,:beer: which u see ryoko and sometimes ayeka getting plastered on. Anyway I suggest you guys buy some of the uncut episodes. Mainly Tenchi Muyo! and Universe, Tenchi in Tokyo isn't really changed.

Oh yes, I also hate Toonami for making so many big changes to it, but ya know, kids are watching so they have to do that really, they can't show nudity on Public TV... :(

To be honest, the scene where Washu first 'examines' Tenchi is definitely NOT for basic cable TV! She freakin flirts with him almost as much as Ryoko does, maybe that's where she got it from...she also nearly gives him, uh...manual stimulation! :blush: My friends and I nearly jumped out of our skins!

Sorry to be a topic harbinger, but there's some censorship-related steam that I have to let off...

I am sick to death of the horrible mutilations suffered by such series as Dragonball Z and Sailor Moon. Censorship is a PATHETIC, LOW, DISGUSTING practice, and prevents people from knowing and seeing the truth, just like blind PROPOGANDA. It is a sick and perverted practice, more sick and perverted than most of the stuff they censor out anyway, BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE GOD DAMN NERVE TO INSULT OUR INTELLIGENCE WITH THEIR DUMBED DOWN, AMERICANIZED FORMS!!!!!!!!

*phew* There we are! I see that shows like Tenchi have material unsuitable for viewing by the immature-minded, so there's a simple solution - Don't show it on kiddy channels like Cartoon Network! Get a decent channel like Sci-Fi (who show anime sometimes) to put it on, because they like keeping anime as it should be.

As a 'kid' myself (14), I feel disgusted at the fact that so many companies think 'kids' can't appreciate anime. Even the name 'minor' is discriminative, sheesh, you'd think these people would remember that THEY were 'kids' once...
It's a state of mind, people, and I'm sure WE all know that. It's just that so many others choose to be this way... it really pisses me off. I mean, me and a friend, the same age, are currently making a home-grown RPG (I'm in charge of story, script, characters and programming, he's in charge of character art, all art, all music, movies and anything media-related) which contains a load of stuff that people would say kids shouldn't be shown... but WE'RE 'kids' and we're making it, so surely that says that we're good enough to handle most series in their unbastardised forms!

and just from watching that i knew what things would be like if cn had uncut tenchi :heh:

The Cartoon Network in the UK have just begun showing Tenchi Muyu OAV's, and before it started, I was wondering how'd they get away with Ryoko running around naked half the time..., well, I saw it the other day, and basically they've given her a blue bikini(!)...., I'm not surprised really, the UK has some tough censorship laws.

actually when u said earlier that toonami is the best place that we can watch anime or something like that it depends on where u live cause where i live there is a channel that i think they showed an uncut tenchi muyo (the tv show not the ova). i know that they did show tenchi but i am not really sure of it was uncut or not.

Yeah, the Sci-fi channel showed uncut Tenchi about a year ago in the UK. Sadly, I missed it, as I didn't have Sky back then. :( They can't show it again, 'cuase Pioneer have given the Tenchi rights to the piece of crap known only as Cartoon Network.
I HAVE been watching Tenchi on CN, though... geez, it's so easy to see the changes! "It smells like bad tea in here"? And the bikini painting thing was just SO transparent... (well, I WISH they were, but that's another matter. :B: ) However, I think that Pioneer's editing department have done the best that they could under the circumstances. They've managed to keep an 'adult' feel to the series, and as far as I can tell, the dialogue is largely untouched. (I'm glad they haven't changed the BGM!)
So, in short, Pioneer, I salute you. Cartoon Network, I HATE you! :finger:
