Is Gauln like some master escape artist or is he just really really lucky?

SPOILERS AHEAD

I mean after being capped in the head he survives, then he gets blown up in a lamba driver AS battle against Sagara, and another lambda driver AS battle again being blown up.

He manages to survive all of it, sure he is the main villian but really I just find it stupid how he comes back after a few filler epissdes looking his usual self no missing or robotic ligements and such.

I agree with his coming back again and again to be a little on the ridiculous side. I don't know whether or not it was the novel author who had Gauln come back again and again or it was something the director decided to do. Either way, it got kind of tiresome. Perhaps it was something come up with by the anime director and when Gauln "died" for the first time, he decided that he'd bring him back because he thought he was a good villan.

Anyways, the 3rd time Gauln came back(final arc of the series) was when it started to bug me. When he came back in episode 15-17(Homeland Arc), it didn't bug me a whole lot because I've seen this sort of thing happen before where an enemy who supposedly "dies" some how survives, and also because he added a good touch to the arc(best part of the show, IMO).

Now if they gave and explanation, any explanation like I used shot my escape pod out or the lamba drive shield protected my from the blast I wouldnt really care

If he appears or makes a cameo in the second series ...

Hahaha, he's the main antagonist. He's supposed to do that.

I reckon Gauln is a legend villian though.

What I found frustrating is that he kept comign back but it was never really made clear as to WHY he was so insane.

That being said, he's not really that much of a convincing villain. Still, as someone the audience would hope Sagara will beat the ---- out of, he does his job well ;)
