Today I got fed up with my truck and went and bought a new car. 2003 Ford escort zx2. I dont know why the mags dont give this car a chance. Since Im still breaking the car in I havnt reached the upper part of the power band, but the car has plenty of go between 3500 and 4500(my limit till its broke in) rpms. Steering/grip was more responsive than my old probe with new michelins. Cant remember what tyres are on the zx2 stock. My only complainton power is that below 3500 the car seems to be to restrictive and cant get much power. The redesigned front keeps on looking more aggresive everytime I look at it. I just wish the hood looked a little sportier. shifting is great but too much engine and transmission movement. its taking away from my power. Can we say better mounts soon. Ill take some pics when I get done with the first rounds of mods. Hopefully within a week Ill have the stereo redone. Push button ignition in, and a couple on interior neons tastefully placed. After that its suspension upgrades. And when the warranty is gone its turbo time.;)

if you're building a drift car, shouldn't you get the suspension, brakes, etc that's important to drifting fixed up first?

Unless this will also be your daily ride to work or whatnot, then I'd understand.

good point...personaly id try to get a LSD installed too although being a FF car means you'll pay a good deal of money to have it installed..he's getting the suspension done when he gets the money...do your thing Akaflakes..and get pics done soon...

btw...push button ignition is cool! also dont they make kits for the ZX2 i thought they did ...i mean if they have kits for contors..they should have one for you car...

If you ever manage to make videos or pictures of your car in action, you should post'em up.

I've always had a dream of making an S15 drift car. My friend has a white S15 and it makes me jealous x_X

Yep it is my daily ride. Im going to wait until next summer before I do any suspension mods. Im going to try to pay the car off as quick as I can so I cant spend too much money on goodies. until then its the cheap things that make the interior and car look/sound nice and/or slightly aggressive.

You can make a kit for any car for the push button ignition. Anyone with a little imagination can do it.

As for paying to have things installed. I have access to a engine lift and for the price of dinner and a 6 pack Ive got a mechanic friend who could help me do everything I could ever need.

And the S15 is the ultimate drift car. Ive always wanted to do it but never had the capital or knowledge to pull it off. but now lots of people are doing s15 front clip swaps into 240sx's. Im kinda glad I didnt go that route.

ah. kinda reminds me, was walking out of a summer class one day when I saw a guy driving a 240sx by. I almost cried in pain when I saw what he did to it.

The body was scartched all over, he had this weird fireball sticker that looked like one of those stickers you get out of those $0.50 stands at supermarkets on the side. To top it off, he had a tail-light busted open and both side mirrors were cracked all over.

It hurt.

i know what you mean...i hate to see cars cheapened

i saw a old probe covered in fireball stickers, it seemes they bought out all of the stickers in Pep Boys and slaped them anywhere on their car. No thought went into it at all. i know it takes lots of money to make a good looking car but that dosent mean that you should cheapen it... i hate it..more than i hate FC's with heavy 19 inch crome rims...yes...there are three around here and i hate each one ..not every car needs crome dang it ..

well enough of my rant...caio
