New to Hellsing

Hey guys. I have a friend who has the whole series in Japanese on some Cds. I'm not sure what it's about, and, if it's worth watching. I like the art, and from what he tells me, the story-line seems pretty cool. Isn't it about vampires and such? The only vampire anime I have ever seen is Vampire Hunter D. Is it anything like that? I don't know, I need some input here guys.

Vampire Hunter D is a kind of quiet, cool, vampire anime. Hellsing is a kind of loud, crazy, series vampire anime. Hope that simple input helps... But if you're into vampires and gothic stuff this is really one of the few good anime containing that sort of stuff, worth taking note of. A boxset released recently.

Sigurd explained it well, Vampire D is mellow while Hellsing is up beat and crazy. There is really good action in the series, but also a lot of historical and new age stuff. I definately suggest this anime to anyone that likes action, good story, and the goth sub-culture.

Umm. I just watched the first DVD. (I need to watch the second one for the rest of the series ... but it's my friend's and I didn't get a chance to.)

Why is Alucard so powerful? My friend said that if he told me - it would ruin it for me. :confused2

What's with the gay vampire? That is really disturbing. It's good that they killed him and his gay lover Mick; that made me happy.

And why doesn't the police girl drink blood? Is she trying to hold on to her humanity or something???

Well what would you do if tomorrow everyone told you the only thing you could eat/drink was blood? I don't think anybody could make the transition that quickly.

Um, i don't know that it would really ruin it for you to know, but when you spell Alucard backwards what do you get? Alucard is his son I believe, (haven't watched in a while)

This is just the first of many disturbing things in the series.

I think its's something like that, she's in denile or something i guess.

Yea i downloaded the soundtrack the other day, great stuff.

Just keep watching, and you will realize, if you don't already, that Hellsing is like a maple tree whose sap is coolness.
