ANN mentioned that Season 2 of FMP! is in production. Does anyone have info on it? I would really like another season to fill in the plot gaps of the first season, and hopefully inject more comedy. (the series got too serious at the end for me)
Cheers!

A second series of FMP, yes! I too hope some of my unanswered questions are answered.

I hope for some better lamba driver arbalest battles, more action is the way. And more on Chidori X Sagara

Well...some good and some not so good. The New Full Metal Panic is hitting TV station in Japan on August 4, however this isn't a direct sequel to Full Metal Panic. This series is basically covering the school lives of Chidori and Sagara. So, in a since, this one is particuallar focusing on somewhat the comedy side to it. It won't be as serious as the the first one. I'm looking forward to it.

School lives, so like it fills in the parts at school from the first Full Metal Panic? Hmm so that might be what that small FMP thing was about in Newtype USA 1.

That's what I am thinking orochi X, but it could also start off exactly where the the first season ended, only most of the action is going to take place in the classroom. Yet it won't be a direct sequel. That's what I believe. I guess we will see in August!:)

Regardless of what it is, as long as it maintains some form of consistency and ORDER in it's stories, it should turn out good. FMP jumped around from insane comedy to hardcore seriousness in a heartbeat, and it felt so disjointed at times.

If it wasn't for that, I would've enjoyed the series more.

But what would be the excuse to place Sagara back in school? Seeing as

Gauln is dead so he wont be wanting to kidnap Chidori, well I think his dead .. he better not pop out of nowhere again. Damm that habit of his!

Agreed, the series was too jumpy. First you have the black technology thing then jumps to school filler episodes then jumps to the Behemoth arc then to the nuclear warhead thing then jumps to the black technology again. If it stayed on just the black technology I would of enjoyed it much much more

Can anyone confirm that the second season premieres on August 4? And does anyone know which groups will be fansubbing it?

Sorry, looks like we are going to have to wait about three more weeks before it premiers in Japan. August 25 to be exact. So it may be fansubed in the middle of September. The second season is scheduled to be 11 episodes long. It was originally 12, but the second episode was cut out because it involved a kidnapping of a child. This was familiar in what happened currently in Japan concerning a crime with the same situation, although it may appear on DVD once it's released on the format.

I gues I can wait. 11 episodes, aint all that long but I guess any more FMP is good enough for me aslong as my questions are answered.

if they do make the second season, would ADV try to license it the second it comes out since the first one was succesful(or i thought it was) and if it did will fansubbers still be likely to sub it?
I would wanna watch it to and not wait a year for it T_T.

I'd say yes on both accounts...

Well, I've just seen the first episode of the second season, and it was set in school, based loosely on the first chapter of the manga, and it seems that Sagara has only transferred there recently (about a month or so ago, I think), so it's certainly not a sequel.

Whether it will fill in any plot holes, or it will just be comedy I don't know, but on the basis of that first episode, it's just comedy. Still, it was very funny, and I thought that the high-school comedy parts of the first season were the best bits.

I downloaded it but I can't seem to get any video. I have all the latest codecs so what the heck is wrong? Does anybody have a clue? Is there some obscure codec I may not have?
Thanks for the help,
Cheers.
