My friend says that his volume 2 of Chobits came with a mini pencil-board, and he wants to know if Volume 3 was supposed to. He keeps insisting that his was defetive. Was it supposed to have one?

some will have it (and will have a sticker saying so on the outer wrapper), others wont.
So, this is something he should buy in real stores, then?
it seems that way, although chances are a store might get 10 copies in, and only 1 might have it (and other times all the copies in the store might have it), but at least in a retail store you can check through the stock on the shelves for one with the sticker.
pioneer seem to be very random with pack-in, i've had them with Chobits 3 (but not 1 or 2), Tenchi Muyo 2-4 (but not 1), Mahoromatic 2 and 3 - all pre-ordered from the same company online.
