Is it worth it?

I saw episodes 3-5 of Full Metal Panic at Animeiowa this weekend, and I was definately intrigued. However, I don't know how many episodes and DVDs total this series is, so I am wondering... is it worth buying the entire series?

Well, I'm getting the first DVD with accompnaying box.
Therefore, if I must have plans of buying the series, then it must a darn good one! :thumbup:

Its 24 episode so that should be about 6 DVDs.

Its a good solid action mecha anime, only let down a little bit by the 'jumpy' storyline but overall a good purchase.

Just bought the 1st DVD and box a few days ago after waiting with almost rabid anticipation for several months. After I reconciled my long held expectations with the end result, I began to enjoy it. Looking forward to getting the next disc when it comes out.
I'd recommend getting it.

The second DVD is even better. It gets to the actual storyline.

I believe the series is planned for 7 DVDs.

If you get into it, keep in mind that there will be sequels.

Oh, and I almost got to go to animeiowa... but I had to work... a buddy of mine went, though. Did you see a group cosplaying Fruits Basket?

Yes, it's planned for 7-discs. At the last-minute, ADV decided to make it a 7-disc release to "milk" the series a little more. Woud've been perfect as a 6-disc release with 4-episodes per disc, but oh well. I don't like the ugly covers and how ADV is trying to market it as a hardcore military mecha series, but they at least have nicer looking reversible covers and the box is sturdy. I'm waiting for a boxset to come out before I replace my fan-subs. Good buy for me since I loved the show and it will have good replay value with me.
