Alrighty, since hardly anyone puts their 2 cents into the Blue Seed "thoughts for money" jar (the forum itself) I have decided to make a new thread devoted to Blue Seed 2, or Blue Seed Beyond as the R1 release is being called.

I saw a trailer for it on the ADV release of the Original Dirty Pair: Project EDEN DVD and am quite pleased by what I have seen so far. Production values look like they've gone up to at least twice what their predecessor had. The visuals look much nicer, but I couldn't guage the sound effects because from what I remember there weren't any, just the opening or closing theme over a montage of action shots.

If ADV does the same thing they did with the original -taking all 4 discs and putting them in a hugely discounted box set when all the DVDs have been released- I'll definitely pick this one up.

Well, I've thrown my 2 cents into the jar, somebody else do it so they won't declare the forum dead as a doornail. Peace! ;)

From what I've heard BS2 isn't as long as the first series, so I don't expect alot of episodes on each DVD. As for the story, I heard that the characters mature a bit. I'll pick it up just to see what some of my fav characters are up to.

BS2 Is only 3 pisodes hardly worth watching and besides they changed Kusanagi's and Momiji's voice actors, so this series is a serious no go.

Well, it doesn't quite live up to his predecesor, but nonetheless, it's still a watch, especially the 3rd episode.

The first Blue Seed had one of the best endings to any anime I've seen, in terms of so many resolutions (though what Susano-oh really wanted was left a bit up in the air), so many happy couples getting together, climatic emotion and deep thoughts etc. So I'd rather not watch Blue Seed 2 if does anything to tarnish that ending.

As it is I've heard a number of bad things about it, bad story line, bad voice-acting, characters-aren't-in-character etc. If this is true it should be struck from the continuity, on the other hand I know people tend to overreact so what are your opinions? Are Koume and Yaegashi in it and still together? Honestly I liked their relationship even more than the main Momiiji/Kusanaji deal.

Yes, I'm a romantic but I still like action/adventure anime!

That song in the last episode was sad but awsome!

That's not entirely true Peretine fan. The voice acting isn't bad at all, the only bad part about it is obviously the fact that Kusinagi and Momiji's voice actors have been replaced. The girl who did Hyatt in Excel now does Momiji.

And this really upsets me because I LOVED Jason lee as a voice actor for Kusinagi. Anyways, the story is actually pretty good and it could have easily spawned a full 26 episode series. But for whatever reason they only cut it down to 3 eps.

They wrap it up so fast, but the potentiel IS definitely there. The characters all act the same if you ask me, it;'s just they all have a hard time moving on. Koume and Yagashi are still a couple (sort of) they were fighting at first.

Kunikida gets injured and Sugishita (the cop that always bugged Takeuchi in Blue seed) is now in charge of the TAC. A new "plant person" like Kusinagi arrives and it's a pink haired girl named Valencia, designed to be a rival for Momiji's boyfriend.

The most interesting thing I liked about it was the fact that Kusinagi was having a mid life crisis of sorts. He was upset that he was still a "monster" as he put it and felt Momiji couldn't be with him because he wasn't normal.

But I agree that this was definitely a let down because there is so much possibility here to do so much more. I do recommend it though especially if you want to see how the characters have changed over the years.
