Can someone explain the entire .Hack storyline up to Legend of the Twilight?

.hack//sign ended rather on a cliffhanger on CN and I'll never play the game series, so can someone explain all that happens? Up to the manga?

well, you dont need to know anything to watch Twilight (or read the manga), it pretty much stands to its own. if you still want to know what happens, then just ask again :)

Okay, well basiclly this kid 'Kite' starts playing this game "The World" because his friend 'Orca'. Then the game get a virus type deal and Orca (in real life and in the game) goes into a coma. While he is in the coma Kite is trying to get to the bottom of the mysterious virus. He then comes across the....uh....whats it called....well its this braclet thing that we will call the power braclet. Now Kite gets friends in the game and battles more virus infected stuff, kills bosses, and gains levels(end of game one). Game 2= same deal virus spreads. Game 3= same deal... virus spreads; ends with braclet breaks. Game 4= ???(I havent gotten it yet). Then 6 months later...the show starts...then 2 years after show ends the second show(Legend of the Twilight)....then every thing is happy...YAY!

Adding to the spoilers since I finished Game 4 (Mostly... g'damn Hidden dungeon with some many &*%ing Data Bugs *ahem*)

More details: At the end of Vol 3, Kite and his crew have managed to start a counter-attack on Morganna. My favorite uber-kawaii Wavemaster Mistral makes her return. Oh and the bracelet breaks in vol 4. it's the big turning point since Kite can no longer data-drain. But Cubia isn't going to bother him either. He also ends up taking out Mia.. who really was Maha (The cat player in all the .hacks)

So in the end, he and the others go after Morganna. The fight looks tough but with the aid of Aura and the comatose players, Kite succeeds in a most unexpected way. Not giving up, Morganna uses her own abilities of Data Drain to take out Kite's allies. As they fall about him, he races forward to finish the battle. As he attacks, at the last moment Aura appears in front of her 'mother'. Both of them 'die' and are reborn.

Aura is finally born into the World and the players come out of their comas.

That's the end of the game basically. If you have any other questions I can answer them too.

She's the evil being in "The World" that trapped Tsukasa there in .hack//sign. She sent Skeith to hunt down Aura, etc. She is basically the main bad guy.

Morgana was an AI that Harold had created to give 'birth' to Aura. Sadly, since giving birth to Aura would kill Morgana, she decided not to cooperate.

honestly dude you need to play the games and watch the dvd's that come with um they are tons of fun and the story is WAY indepth for those who haven't played to understand ....imserious it is one big curly fry! :)
