From a hypociritical nation that sold arms to both sides in the First World War and sent two Japanese cities into a holocaust of nuclear fire, the hyporcritical act of brining Anime to the west and then ruining it is to be expected.
Relating to the first crime that I mentioned, the Americans only care about one thing: MONEY$$. They do not care what destruction and humiliation they create (DBZ and Card Captor Sakura, anyone?) as long as it brings in the dough.
Relating to the second crime, let us face the realities: The Americans are STILL the race of elitists who are contemptuous of the Japanese race for losing WWII. Why else would there be those racist cartoons and commercials with narrow eyed Asians that jabber in accented English and do Martial Arts moves that make no sense out of the blue (Breakfast at Tiffany's, anybody?).
Hence on the horrific realisation that Anime in general is equal, if not superior to adult animation like "The Simpsons", they must destroy its image to promote their own by intentionally stupid censorship and editing. Such is American beuracracy.
Still, American distributed Anime is a necessary evil (AT THE MOMENT) so the world can glimpse the potential of Anime. We can only hope that those know nothing dinosaurs known as the network executives would smarten up, take some brain medicine and become less racist.
I cringe at what they will do to Slayers, Ruronin Kenshin (PLEASE NO!!) and other equally brilliant Anime before they do wisen up!!
