What can I say. After seeing this show on AS, I could hardly sleep cause I just wanted to see more and more.

Anyone else watch? Your thoughts?

Interesting...

It was uncensored too, according to several people I talked to.

Yup, blood, violence, everything except nudity and swearing.

I was actually pleased by the dub, and I typically despise dubs. Of course, I love the Japanese voices more, but the English VAs did a pretty good job on it. For the most part, the voices were believable (had realistic emotion), and seemed to match the character well.... although Kiba's voice seemed a tad whiny and I can see it getting annoying pretty quickly. And Hige's VA seemed a bit stiff, but this is only the first episode so he might grow into the role. No problems with Tsume's voice; he was well-chosen.

I'm glad this show's on TV. AS is really getting a good variety of shows on, aren't they?

I thought the choice of VAs were interesting. The VA for Kiba (Johnny Yong-Bosch) voiced Vash (a wacky pacifist) in Trigun, and the VA for Hige (Joshua Seth) voiced young Knives (a sociopathic killer). They seem to have switched roles in Wolf's Rain somewhat, Yong-Bosch is playing a jaded prideful wolf who thinks nothing of killing pathetic humans, and Seth is playing a carefree wolf who would rather find a peaceful way out of a bad situation. And they both carry it off well, who knew?

Just thought that was interesting. :)

Is there even nudity in the series? I'd be interested in seeing if they censor it better than Toonami. :p

Not bad at all.

Notice how adult the commercials were getting?

I know it's on AS, but I was just wondering when it would be released to DVD. Does anybody know? I'd like to have the option to watch it subtitled (I prefer subs, but will watch dubs), and I'm usually at work when AS is playing anyway.

I'm just asking because I need to know when I can expect my pocketbook to be taking some hits. *wry grin*

I actually went searching for any DVDs yesterday. All I could find were 2. The Volume 1 DVD and a Limited Edition Vol. 1 DVD. You can find them on AnimeNation and a few other online anime stores.

 Good to plan ahead.

I've heard conflicting reports about this. Online stores and Anime On Dvd list the first dvd as coming out on June 22nd. But yesterday I picked up another Bandai release with one of those little booklets talking about different series, and it said that Wolf's Rain would be released in July.

Not quite sure which is true, but that's the general time when the first volume will come out.

Been a while since I watched this series. I think you might be refering to Darla(?) who we see lying in a discreet room away from noise and such with the mysterious figure with an eyepatch.

I must say that its the best series I have ever seen. Minus the in jokes me and my friends made as who is uke and seme out of the wolves involved.

I've been disconected for a while now from the "anime universe" if you will, and one of the latest anime I've been watching is wolf's rain. Its really interesting their version of a werewolf or wolves and the way they play with the concepts of both t omake and original story. It was quite intriguing. Can't wait to se more! :D

I like the opening scene, with the music, it really adds depth to it.

Anyhow, 2nd episode today!

not really anything to be surprised about, considering most of the anime on AS are lightly edited, if at all (with the exception of Blue Gender and Bebop)

Last night's episode was really good, and at some points extremely sad...

Spoilers:

Especially when that young wolf with the bracelets tried to catch the girl's bird, becuase he thought it was flying away, and wound up killing it.....Oh man...That was heart-wrentching.

End spoilers

I must see more of this series.

I think this is a really cool take on the whole werewolf thing. These aren't humans who turn into wolves, they're intelligent wolves who can do a jedi mind trick sorta thing to make people THINK they look like humans. When their concentration lapses, like when the young wolf who killed the bird started crying, they can't keep up the illusion. Cool concept, and one I don't think has been done before.
