The Ultimate Genin Team?

Assuming only three members allowed in a team.
and only genins allowed, shikamaru included.

I'd go with Naruto, Sasuke, and Rock Lee.

Naruto has incredible amount of chakra, and many
moves and tricks up his sleeves. And he knows
summoning-no-jutsu

Sasuke is fast and very agile. He excells in ninjutsu
and genjutsu and also has the ability of the sharingan
and chidori which are huge assets

Rock Lee if combines the two of the above, high stamina
as well as quickness. But lacking techniques in ninjutsu
and genjutsu, but incredible abilities in taijutsu. He also
can use the lotus attacks which are awesome

K thats my team, although lacking intelligence but say in
a open fight, i believe my team will own all other genin
teams of 3. :p

I'd have Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru. Naruto and Sasuke are both strong, and Shikamaru, although weaker physically compared to the two, has high points for intelligence which is good for missions.

After all, One can sustain long battles and is stubborn like hell, while the other two just see what they need.

I'd agree with Rulakir.

Naruto and Sasuke are the top genins.But they are both used to fighting by themselves and aren't good at team battles.Shikamaru would know how to best use all of theirs strenghts and organize them in the best formation possible.Also,lots of people say Shikamaru is weak,but Kage Mane no Jutsu is one of the most powerful techniques out there!

well i think shikamaru will be a key element if it
was a mission based task. but im talkin about just
open arena fighting. but then again, even in that
situation shikamaru will be handy because of his
ability to spot weaknesses and plan out special
attacks.

since we are talkin genin here i think i hav a rite to include some of my sand genin homies rite? and from all those other villages 2... thats cool rite? and since thats the case i choose [u pikachu!! jk]:
1. [sadly i can't remember her name but] Gaara's sister-
she has a good intelligence plus the summoning and her most awesome fan, major props there [my number 1 draft pick]
2. Naruto- Kage Bunshin no jutsu!! plus big frog summoning and the fact he has a kyubi with him...foxy ;)
3. Neji- Super chakra control and his lil special eyes...BYAKUGAN

yes..i beleive this is as ultimate as u can get, and yes i think sasuke is over-rated [dont hurt me... :( ]

I think you mean Temari, dAmaGed_tRuK.

It's hard to pick a perfect team since they all have weaknesses.

As well as his raw power, Naruto is very inventive at times. He came up with the shuriken tactic when they were trying to rescue Kakashi. He also managed to perform the Rasengan after only a few weeks even though the fourth took years to master it.

Shikamaru is no longer a Genin so he doesn't qualify for this. Also, his shadow attacks seem to have an alarming habit of failing against strong opponents. His intelligence is a definite asset though.

I'd pick Neji over Sasuke - his Byakagun seems to be superior to the Sharingan except for the Sharingan allowing hypnosis and technique copying. His chakra attacks and defence make him very hard to take down.

For the third member I'd probably go with Sakura. She seems quite weak but she has been quickly learning the healing arts which are very useful to a ninja team. On top of that, she has a lot of knowledge which Naruto and Neji can take advantage of.

Well since Hanzo mentioned it:

When your talking about missions that requires stealth and strategy then:
Shikamaru definitely has to have the first slot, Then either sasuke or neji for their eyes and techniques and the third slot would be perhaps the Insect user (can't remember his name) I think he could definitely fit such a mission using his insects and I think he's quite the intelligent and calm type of person as well.

An all out attack type of mission:
Neji: great offensive and defensive skills, byakougan
Naruto: his surprise attacks, plus summoning technique, the Kiyubi and Rasengan, and perhaps the Sexy no jutsu technique(???)
Lee: killer taijutsu and speed, plus his drunken fist technique(??)
Sasuke: speed, techniques, sharingan and chidori
Gaara: his sand of course, and the beast within him
and I guess Temari, for a long range attacker since most focuses on close combat, and the brain to match shikamaru
.... just mix and match!!!
