Woohoo! First thread here at this forum!

Just outta curiosity....

I heard that in order to make One Piece reach a wider audience, some digital changes will be made.

One I've heard of is that Sanji develops a sweet tooth in that his cigerette will be replaced by a sucker

Does anyone else know any more?

sounds more like americans worried about their children getting the wrong ideas so that they aren't "influenced" by what they see on tv. stupid censor rules.

Well, having watched at least some of the dub....*twitch*

The biggest changes I've seen so far have been as follows.

- Guns airbrushed over and/or changed so that they aren't being pointed at people.

- The top of the cross Zoro's tied to in the second episode was removed.

- Blades of weapons are airbrushed out when they would cut someone, making certain scenes look ridiculous.

- Blood has been lessened or removed entirely.

- In the first episode, Luffy hits Coby twice. However, in the dub they removed both scenes because hitting people is wrong.

- Not a digital change, but the soundtrack is completely different.

There are other things, but I haven't been paying that much attention to it. I have my fansubbed episodes, and that's all I will have until a dual-language, uncut DVD release is made.
