This would explain why he's Keisuke's BUDDY.

In the series (moreso in the OVAs), his wealth is openly stated in casual conversations later in the episodes, and it's brought up in many-a-conversation.

Also, in the OVA Mini Albums, the storyline would be non-existant, really, if it weren't for his predominant fundage. $.$
