As for more being animated, I haven't heard the latest info. The manga series however, is still currently running. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is really keeping up with it because only so much has been released stateside. I believe that Einishi ended at a good point so I don't feel the need that more should be animated unless the creators want to continue with more by animating more of the manga, which by far has more drama and supspense to it from what most I have read. Only time will tell I suppose.

Can anyone tell me the number of books and DVDs that are currently avalible in the US?

There are a total of 8 DVD's released stateside. Five for the first season and three for the second season. As for books, there are currently 6 from TOKYOPOP.
