Lol,www.petitiononline.com has got the be the biggest waste of webspace ever.Besides, there's so many groups fansubbing it it isn't hard to find.

Frankly I think Naruto has had too much time in the spotlight.Do any of you play MMORPGs?It's sickening the number of Narutos,Sasukes,Kakashis,Itachis and other chars in these games.

do you think the argument for not getting it licenced is very valid?

Naruto has become a filler series just ripe for the pickin'. Right up Cartoon Network's alley.

I think that Naruto is a good series (like I said, though, too much filler). Sexy no Jutsu= exterminated. Count on it.

I think their argument for not licensing Naruto is mindblowingly stupid considering most of these people whining about it only know a few words in japanese that are constantly repeated in fansubs.

It's okay for Latin to be translated into English but not Naruto  fanboys like them make ppl like me who like anime look bad.

Heh.

What a bunch of liars.

The only reason why they don't want it licensed is so that they can d/l it for free (of course, no one stopped subbing it). Either that, or, they're afraid of little children watching their 'beloved' show, which was made for the masses in the first place.

This "fans" should be taught that not every anime is released edited and companies do release subbed anime.

Regardless, I like the way they act like the Japanese version of the show was completly delted off the face of this planet, or on their world, Konoha :)

I"m particularily curious how they will cover it up.My guess is they'll do like Tenchi Muyo and give Naruto a bikini during SnJ

I like that kind of stuff in it because it makes it targeted to an older crowd. I don't understand why Americans are so afraid to see it, cause deep down we're a bunch of pervs who want to see it anyway. But taking that out... it jsut seems that this is gonna turn into another anime that the 5-8 year olds go crazy about. I hope it doesn't turn into another pokemon. i'll be pissed

Who are you? Mr. Editing Expert? If there's an anime on tv expert here on AB, it's me. I'd say about 4500 of my posts are threads about anime on tv. Now that is out of the way, It's not going to be edited out completely, I will be willing to bet you $100 that Naruto will be covered with a digital bikini. If CN can have something like Melfina (which is 100x more hott) on CN and an episode of Tenchi Muyo where one major character is naked pretty much the entire episode (both instances were covered with a digital bikini, done by Williams Street using the Inferno program)

Now, it's a totally different story of Viz/ShoPro themselves decide to pull a 4kids on us, but I highly doubt it. Sexy No Jutsu was in the US manga. Also, since I'm on the subject, I bet there will be uncut dvd's as well and Naruto on CN isn't going to end up like One Piece or YGO! on FoxBox.

also, how could you take out the Sexy move? sometimes plot twists depend on it (if he didn't have it, how would he have gotten the frog hermit? thats a pretty big gap to fill)

You'll be surprised.

Anyhow, like I said earlier, I am POSITIVE that it won't be edited out completely. I'm pretty sure that they will either put a digital bikini OR leave it as it is. It's really not that racy, fans just overract, I mean, they showed a bare ass before on Toonami, given, it was a guy's. Regardless, it will NOT be edited out and there's always a chance that they'd leave it as it is (Viz/Shopro is editing the show, NOT Cn). Even if the scene (and the later ones) is edited (which I'm sure that it won't), the fact that Naruto did the move won't be.

Maybe. Or they could cut out the scene completely. Never said I was editing pro, but you seem to be the Dub Master. Here- a cookie, for you!

I remember in the manga, a jutsu called... Doppleganger or something like that.. Tell me how that got lost in translation, oh holy one. ^_^

I love it when words get twisted.

Tell me where I said I was a dub master, and I will give you a cookie. I only said I was an anime on tv expert (and I didn't start calling myself that either). I'd love to give you some of my articles that I wrote for toonzone, but you probably won't be able to comprehend them. ;)

As I said earlier, I will bet you $100 that the scene WILL NOT get cut out completely. Give me your address/number and I'll give you mine, or are you too scared? (note: the scene WILL NOT get cut out, but it will be edited by adding either more smoke, or digital bikini, just wanted to emphasize on that)

As for your question, Kage Bunshin No Jutsu was translated into "Art of the Doppelganger" (note the spelling of the doppelganer). As we all know, Kage Bunshin is a replication technique that Naruto does. As for the defintion of Doppelganger, Doppel (in German) means "double" and "ganger" (German as well) means "gang". Put the two together and you get "A Gang of Doubles." If you ask me, it wasn't lost in translation. The problem here is the use of the terms, not the fact that it was translated wrongly.

Any other dumb questions? Holy one, Hmm...that sounds good.

Dragonball was 200+ episodes and it took nine years to air them all. Probably same with Naruto

Well you also have to remember, there was a lull in the first three years, of course you then had the same company having to dub the entire show and movies. And it'll probably be like a regular american cartoon, or anime series where they get 26 episodes out. Or you just have a long break and then pump them out, like they did for the Android Saga which was 77 episodes.

Of course, when it comes to toonami edits, they're rename the Ninjitsu centerfold and add a digital bikini to it. But I wouldn't be surprised if they take it out sections entirely, they've done it before. Like in Kenshin, Blue Gender and Gundam Seed while at the same time keeping the music track very well intact. Blood will be easy to wipe out especially after Kenshin, but some of the battles will be interesting.

And with toonami now banished to a Saturday time slot, it should be easy to keep a pace since it won't be a weekly show. Although it'll be hell if you fall off the band wagon.

Isn't it obvious why we can't have that kinda stuff in cartoons? America is a country of the free and that means freedom of speach or protest and all the bibble thumpers and faint harted grandmothers who believe cartoons to be a thing that only suits children will yell and complain and ratings for the tv channels go down. Therefor, they cut or edit it out and say "screw you other people who don't mind that kinda stuff and really want to see the original product."

I can't really see it being as popular with the kiddies or geared towards them asmuch as pokemon though considering all the actuall killing that takes place durning the shows. Unless there really is some heavy edits I don't think it'll get a Saturday morning slot.

That's exactly what I meant. I wasn't implying that it all aired conitnously, if it did, the entire thing would have been done in less than 2 years.

But they've also let it slide before. I'm positive the Sexy No Justu won't be taken it out completly, and I'm sure that they will just add digital bikinis, opposed to the erasure of the entire scene/thing like Zacarias suggests. Even if the scene where Naruto uses that jutsu against the Hokage in the first/second episode wasn't shown, the fact that it still exists won't be deleted and it'll just be implied. I'm leaning towards the digital bikini edit though.

Finally. It got licensed. *Really bad at keeping up and only noticed when suki stopped registering*

I don't understand how some of you are surprised a commercial mass-media company got it though.

To sooth those bruised egos and for you to be able to sooth (or crush) other egos let me sum up some things:

Naruto is a little kids show. We're talking pre- to early-teens here. Ever wonder why they explain everything into infinity and beyond? That's your answer, just be grateful they're not as bad as Dragonball.
All Japanese one-liners are gay. Don't believe me? Translate them. This goes for every language, even English - for all you non-native English speakers - is gay. And doing an intuitive translation from Japanese to English is difficult since ya'll don't have expressions for everything.
In fact announcing your moves is gay. A right reserved for childrens anime.
Naruto always was this slow, it never was any faster. Ever. One arc - one season, perhaps it just seems slower because less is happening and the battles are getting longer (i.e. opponents are getting stronger). We've only had to put up with one filler arc and I think that was only half a season (they also were the most annoying Naruto episodes ever).
Naruto is a lot like Dragonball Z. Gee, being inspired by DBZ I wonder how that is. Basically it's DBZ with better ballancing and timing. The further allong it goes the more outragous the jutsus will become, personally I found kawarimis a stretch in the second/third season.
The manga is awesome. Better pacing.
Animation is going to get worse. I hope I'm wrong, it reached its all time low in the third season Chuunin exame and recovered a little after that. I was only able to enjoy Neji's 'Hakke' once, they completely removed it this last season. I'm praying that they removed that so they'll be able to show me nice graphics on Lee's drunken boxing. Though I'm not hoping for a repeate of Orochimaru vs. Sasuke from the second season.

Anyway that should help anyone understand why CN, or VIZ, or FUNI, or whoever has a worse reputation is doing whatever to Naruto. And also why Violence Jack will never make it onto CN. Heh.
Though I am curious. Harem no Jutsu with bikinis? I'd think smoke'd be enough, then again I'm not American. Plus I'm just annoying they're going to censor it, I'll be forced to figure out where I can get uncut DVD's. It's CCS all over again! Perhaps there'll be a decent European release. . . .
Oh and if anyone thinks the jutsus in Naruto are badly translated pick up Tenchu: Wrath of heaven/ Return to darkness. Also notice how much Kakashi resembles Rikimaru.

Naruto is like/inspired by DBZ (dbz is the user manual for the genre)
Naruto's manga is better paced
announcing moves is for kids anime
naruto is a kids show

*goes off to sign the petition and complain about how I can't get hard while watching naruto because it might have a digitial bikini*

Although it's true it does remind me of DBZ sometimes, it's just that DBZ is the worst thing i've ever seen in my entire life, i mean it has no plot and yet ran 200+ episodes, at least naruto has more of a story then "a strong enemy appears, train, fight, loose, train more, loose more, train, loose, win"or something along those lines, well that's just my opinion but i stick by it.

As for it being licensed, i don't really care, i've already watched 120 episodes into the subbed version so i'll probably just keep downloading the newer episodes and watching like that. Though i will probably check out the dub, but i don't really have any kind of expectations for it.
