I have been hearing rumors (Or reading them anyway) that there is going to be a Hellsing OVA. Is that true or is it just a rumor?

It is just a rumor. Hellsing ended ages ago and had ratings just above 0%. There will be no more hellsing animation.

From www.animeondvd.com
The link to the page it's on. http://www.animeondvd.com/news/archives.php?datearch=0405

"Geneon Entertainment (USA) is involved in a new Hellsing OVA (http://www.animeondvd.com/images/hellsingova.jpg) series. No number of episodes is listed but they're talking 35 minutes per episode and based on actual manga material."

well to be fair there have been rumours of more hellsing since the first series finished, and unless he/she has been following the news it's quite easy to not have heard about it as it's still early days for the new series.

It's not that. It's that he acts like he's spoken to the creator and the Japanese network it was shown on.

Based on the manga? That would be worth a look.........

No. It's just common sense that failed series don't get sequals.

You'll never know when you look into matters even further if you go by that defence.

Speaking of sequels, this I gotta see. I lurve to see a good looking bloodsucker back in action. ;)

Since when does common sense have anything to do with sequels? If common sense prevailed, half the movies made in Hollywood would never have been filmed.

:: cough :: Like the new Jumanji movie, what is it, Zarthula? And "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lava-girl." X_X

YAY! Nazis, zombies and vampires, oh my!

YAY! Nazis, zombies and vampires, oh my!I don't think that we're in Kansas anymore...

But I hope that it continues on with the Manga. The whole Incognito thing wasn't bad, but it left a lot of questions unanswered.

I thought I update the thread here. :) I just found some screenshots of the new OVA that was taken at Anime Expo 2005. You can find them here:

http://anime-source.com/banzai/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1139

I thought some of the screenshots were pretty cool, especially the last one. I haven't read the manga, so I don't know exactly what to expect from the new OVA.

Wolfpac

No it has to be longer than 35min. Maybe that's only the run time for the first episode? Hopefully there will be at least 3 OVA's

Oh ok...
"The number of episodes is unknown, but they will be 35 minutes long and based on the Hellsing manga series."

So it looks like it'll be continued.. It's called 'Hellsing Ultimate' by the way.

Arg!
It's a remake of Hellsing not a continuation of it  ........ :(

Well...the release date has been announced (at least for Japan) Here's the news:

Hellsing OVA Release Set in Japan (10:11 AM EDT): While the Geneon Entertainment Japan site is still under construction, information has appeared there and at CD Japan for the first volume's release. A limited edition volume at ¥7500 and a regular edition at ¥5700 will be released on 12/09/2005. Informatin is sparse at the moment but the release is 35 minutes long, 16:9 anamorphic widescreen and in some 5.1 audio format. The only difference so far listed on the pages seems to be the limited edition has four more pages in its booklet but there's presumably more to it than that. No release date has been set for the US yet.

Source: Animeondvd

Unless a US date is set before the Japan release date (highly unlikely) I think that I'll go ahead and scoop up the limited edition volume.

God Damn!! I just saw the trailer for the new OVA!! Now I'm definately looking forward to this one!! If you want to see it, just head on over to the Japanese site. Really awsome. It was just oozing with darkness!! Alucard never looked so bad-ass as he did in the trailer! The trailer was simply amazining. :)

practically all of my friends in my group and thats about 40 people, loved Hellsing. To say it was a failed series seems like thats just your opinion. show some graphs or something, pretty pictures makes opinions sway easier.

If this new one is based on hte manga it'll be nifty. I wanna see dandy man! And seras stuck in the coffin!!!!

Some news here: Turns out that the Hellsing OVA has been delayed again! It won't be released until February 10, 2006. :( I don't mind the wait however as they are trying to give the anime fans a really good product, so I can bare with it. :)

Well...got some bad news. :( Helsing OVA 3 has been delayed. Here's the info:

The "News & Info" section of the official Japanese Hellsing OVA homepage reports that production on the third episode is behind schedule. As a result, the release of the third OVA has been delayed until later this year. The episode was scheduled to be released in Japan on February 9th.

That really sucks. Luckly the manga is holding me down. :) On the last volume of the manga too and boy it's a dosie!! :D

And I was so looking forward to seeing Alucard and all his gory actions again.

Well...some good news or could be bad, but here's the scoop:

Animenewsservice reports that the 3rd OVA will be released on April 4th, but could be an April Fools joke on the Hellsing OVA homepage.

Nothing to do now but to wait. :)

Well got my hands on the OVA 2 LE yesterday. Geneon US continue to do some great work with those LE releases. Quite happy I'm holding out for the DVD releases... although its spoiled anyway as I've read the manga :p Big screen TV and wall shaking surrond makes for great viewing of vampire dogs splatterfests! :D

Hellsing Ultimate ova 4 was set to release mid october, but again like the other ovas, the release date has been pushed back to most likely November.

RipVanWinkle and schroddinger(sp?) will be finally in it from the looks of things

Well, on the official site the new date of release is set for the second of the 22 ~2008.2.22. so it'll be another month and a bit at the very least.

Pity the states won't see an offical release for a long time with Geneon going under.

Wolfpac

I was wondering about that too. Any word if any other company has picked up any of Geneon's outstanding releases?
