Well, I think that I consider the Eva series to be an enemy. However, I think that because its controlled by Kaoru's dummy plug, it's not a normal enemy. They're still an enemy, but they have no choice about it, cos they're on auto-kill mode. :D

no, they aren't enimys to humans, or earth, you see, seele is in control of the eva series, not nerv, so, seele commanded the eva series to destroy nerv,
in conclusion, they are enimys to nerv, and only nerv
I believe that they by themselves are neither evil nor good. They simply exist. Their reason for existence was to intiate HCP and that's what they did. They forced humans to evolve. Evolution is neither bad nor good, it simply happens. They are instruments in a real sense.
i don't think that paragraph actually accomplished nething ;)

I think along the same lines as pen^2.
This is not a question to ask in Eva. There are no goodies or baddies in my opinion. There's no black and white but the more subtle shades of grey which is much more interesting.

The EVA series is our tool, they maybe alive but they are our tool...to bend and control in whatever way we please. They of course still have a few bugs to fix up -refer to EVA-01 consuming Zeruel's S2 organ- but then nothing's perfect...
Yes yes...they are as good or as bad as their controlers...
