Eva=robot?

Hello all

Recently, i watched a couple evangelion movies, and I started thinking. What are the eva's? Are they angels? Models of the angels? Completly man made?
I know that the eva's were created based on the original angel..but how are new eva's spawned?

i'm not sure.... but i think the evas were cloned from the angels and then armour was put on them to be able to manipulate them. That's what i think at least.

The eva's are clones of Adam that were encased in armour to protect the eva and also to control the eva. A human soul must also be in the eva, but that is already mentioned in other threads.

I'm kinda hazy on this but i believe it is written that adam was found in the south pole and scientists tried to shrink it down to embryo size, but the energy released wiped out half the Earth's population and caused second impact. Correct me if i'm wrong!

Adam was found at the white moon (Antarctica) by the Katsuragi team as a giant of light. I think they then stuck the lance into Adam who blew up causing the second impact, and was reduced to embryo form. Gendo, who left just before the impact, then came back to retrieve Adam.

Also, don't forget that Unit-01 was created from Lilith.

Well all the Eva's bar 01 were cloned from Adam.

01 was cloned from Lilith.

eva's aren't robots at all. they're living creatures made by man. the armor that gives them the robot look is to keep them under control. they're created using adams blood, except for 01, which was created using lilith.

but what i really want to know is more about all the other evas that were created but died or something. nerv created 100s of evas, but only a few were actually activated. too bad there's no info on those :(

Recall that Angels and Humans have almost identical composition. We came from the same sort of great being, Adam or Lillith. As Ritsuko says upon the destruction of the Reis-'the Evas are human'.

It could be that Evas were created using human and angel/lillith DNA. These along with Rei are probably the Enhanced humans of the fabled Human Enhancement Project begun in the Hakone Research Labs.

the Eva's and the angels are both "Natus de Adamo" Born of Adam. Unit-01 is apparently a clone of Lilith, judging by the words of SEELE in D&R
