Has anyone read any news on this at all? I found some information on it. It comes out in Japan in October. Also, it looks like Production I.G. is planning to do the story from scratch, mean that TV series will have a different persona from the movie, including Saya. I don't know whether to be excited or confused at this point. In any case, I can't wait to see where the TV is heading to since it is opting to take a totally different direction from the movie. Oh and here are some websites for you look at:

she definitely looks completely different to saya.
I always wanted to see more of Blood - got the movie and despite all the hate mongering toward it, I liked it. Pretty tough to get you hands on any of the other stuff, but I did some manga, and it was damn intriguing.

I know that there's a video game for Blood too. I don't think it's been released in the states yet.

I've seen the first two episodes of this, and it's actually quite good. This comes from someone who also LOVED Blood:The Last Vampire and was disappointed to read that they wouldn't be directly related.

Blood the movie was the most overated crap ever though I dont have the heart to tell my dear mother who bought that and the original Ghost in the Shell movie for me a year or two ago. Hopefully the tv show will be better.
i thought the tv series are much better than the movie.. IMO anyways...

At least the TV series showed that it is always aware of the Saya we know from the movie - the one who always has an angry look on her face and is only out to kill.
The reason why the original movie was so bad is because it was just a tech demo of new CG-assisted animation techniques.

Shame on me, Shame!! Taking so long to reply in my thread.... :)
Anyways, I finally had a chance to sit down and watch the first two episodes. One thing for sure is that it's definately action packed with a lot of horror mixed into it. I think prefer this Saya version over the movie version of her. She seems more gentle and fragile so to speak. It was cool watching her fight against the "Mouse" in episode 2. She called out blade and started attacking him like he wasn't nothing.
Another thing I like is the music as well. I had no idea that Hans Zimmerman was doing it, so it's a definate plus to a series as dark and intense as this one.
Probably what I'm most excited about is that this series is going to be 52 episodes, so we'll get a chance to see Saya more fleshed out and how she came about in this world. I know was left definately wanting more.
To wrap things up, I'm going to say that I'm definately along for the ride as I'm anxious to see where things are heading.
that movie was pretty good. i wish you could pick languages on video on demand tho. although the english dub was pretty good imo.

I'm slowly catching up with the latest episodes. I just finshed up episode 3. I'm wondering what's the deal with the "Mouse" monsters. Are the Marines in Okinawa are being used as test subjects to become monsters and if so for what purpose? Also, whom is the guy whom swings his violin case and what is he to Saya? Servant, Lover, Master.....looking at the picture back in episode 2, it seems like they were lovers at one point.
What I like about the episodes is that it does stick with it's theme: Blood. You see lots of it with each episode. That what attracted Forrest to Saya because she has a "unique" type of blood. I wonder what it is? Well, I'm sure most if these mysteries will be answered as time goes along. Hopefully this thread will stay updated!!

Again, I just finshed watching episode 4. It answered most of the questions I had in my prior post. The violin guy's name is Hagi. He's a servant of Saya, in which he moves at her very command. The trouble is that she truly hasn't awakened yet, although a bit of her powers came about when she was able to hear all of the conversations going around her while she was searching for Kai.
As usual, this episode was action oriented, of course with Hagi and Saya doing the most damage here. They are Blood freaks I tell you!! Just cutting and hacking away at themselves like there's no tomorrow!!! I feel that the anime will be even more interesting as it is now, once Saya truly awakens.
Also, I'm left wondering whom took George away from the hospital. I probably find that out soon enough.
I'm definately enjoy the atmosphere of the series. Sort of reminds me of Witch Hunter Robin. This my last post in this thread tonight. I'll wait and post tomorrow or to see if there are any more replies to avoid running the risk of talking to myself!!! :D ;)
i've watched up to episode 6 i think.. moved to a new home last month & moved the phone & internet line as well.. until today i still can't get myself connected.. luckily i work at an internet cafe now..
yup, george's been taken away by those american army (i think, don't remember that much).. and saya & the gang went to rescue him.. unfortunately though.. there'll be a part when u'll see george transform into a... yes, mouse.. it seems those ppl who had been put in that institute have been mutated (is that the right word?) into a mouse.. maybe to lure saya? anyhoo there are lots of mouses in that institute.. so maybe that institute is a place to produce these creatures..
ah.. that's all i can say.. cos i haven't watched the other episodes.. have to wait till my line's fixed.. T_T

I finished up episode 6. It was a particularly sad episode for that the fact Kai always wanted to be useful, but in the end, things just don't come out that way. Watching Saya and Kai having to watch their dad get turned into a "Mouse" and die was sad of course.
Something that was said throughout this episode was "Delta 67". I wonder what exactly is it? And again, what's so special about Saya's blood. Is she somewhat related to the Chiropterans? Oh well, again another great episode and looking forward to more. Actually, I'm about to watch episode 7 now!
i read that there is 50some episodes??? has the whole thing been shown in japan yet? it started in oct, so im guessing its still on going? cant seem to find it on ebay :(

It's still showing in Japan. So far there has been 18 episodes done. Also, this series has been licensed so you'll have a tough time finding it. Good luck anyways as it a very good anime series.

Is anyone here keeping up with the series? I just finished watching episode 18...Some information about Delta 67 was revealed. Also, there could be a possibility that Saya could be "Diva", but I'm making a huge assumption here.

You do realize that it will be a while though? The series is running up to 50 episodes!! It will be at least 2 or 3 years before you'll be able to watch the whole series on DVD. (Unless you purchase the Region 2 versions.) Well, more power to you. I find it strange though that this is one of the most popular anime in Japan right now yet no one here is really watching it.

Yeah, I know!! It will definately be interesting to see which direction she goes in. And Kai, that big a$$ crybaby. I'm so disappointed in him right now, but he's just a kid so...hopefully he'll shape up so he can be there for Saya and Riku, because Saya is now in a position where she can truly trust NO ONE, not even her own flesh and blood!!

I know this is old but..
I sat down an watched all 50 episodes in 2 sittings. Once i hit like episode 12 i couldn't stop. This was definitely one of the best anime's I have seen. I considered giving up after like ep 32 due to Saya's change in attitude and the series habit of building up chars just to knock em off. I am glad i stuck with it though, then ending was definitely worth it (be sure you watch to the last second..). I watched this mostly with subs, but the first few were dubbed. The dub version actually had more appropriate sound to it i think, hitting the 'age' of the characters and most importantly the ethnicity of the chars far better. But i was impatient and took what i could get :)
Deep char development and good lessons on family bonds, humanity, duty, and grieving. Awesome artwork and pretty decent fighting scenes (I had a bit of a problem with everyone BUT saya being able to 'blue dash' around and do superhumanly like things...but ah well). I hope they continue the story line.
