Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex will be starting on the 15th September at 10pm.

Ahh it's been a long time since SBS has shown any new anime, last series I recall was Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 a few years back, another cyberpunk themed series which was on Saturday nights. I always came home from tutoring looking foward to it haha.

I've heard mixed things about Stand Alone Complex, some say it gets a bit slow and boring. But hey it's on free to air I really don't see why I wouldn't be watching this.

And on another note look The Princess Blade is on afterwards.

sweet, seems like sbs has been neglecting asian cinema of all varieties for a long time. I can remember almost every saturday night was some old school kung fu movie.
I've been having to get my fix with Iron Chef lately, and we all know what that does to you....

Yes those Saturday night cult classic movies that were introduced by that guy with glasses who has dissapeared. They were great, I miss them.

Arr cuisine!

I'm just hoping that the DVD's finishes up the series before SBS does. Otherwise I feel ripped off. I'm already a bit annoyed that Cartoon Network has caught up with Initial D. But Stand Alone Complex is a good series. I'm enjoying it.

Woo just to remind those in Australia that tonight begins Stand Alone Complex, remember SBS at 10pm. Looks like I'll need to miss the last half hour of Trial By Jury for this.

Thanks for the heads up Orochi. I would watch it but I've already got all but the last DVD. It's an awesome series and one well worth purchasing.

Thursday 15th September
Episode 1

The first episode, hmm it seems more light hearted compared to the original movie but it's been a long time since I saw it. Nothing terribly fancy though, actually felt a bit rushed the resolution but still it was a bit of fun. I dig the music definately, just a question is the original ending theme an english song or did they change it for the dubbed version?

Episode 2 looks more action orientated from the preview with the rogue mech tank, looking foward to that.

Also SBS says they're showing 13 episodes .., I though the series was 26 episodes long?

I watched this, and was really annoyed but I couldn't figure out why. So I kept watching. Then I realised it was dubbed and hence my annoyance. So I watched Alias. >_>

Last nights episode was good, just a question do we see more of Laughing Man in the later episodes to come? He is definately an intriguing antagonist of sorts. However my only gripe was with the bartender that Motoko went to, his voice that Michae Jackson esque high squeaky voice .. shudder. In the original Japanese audio is his voice like that?
