I was just wondering if anyone has seen the dub version of Naruto and what they thought of it?

Everyone has an okay voice except for Naruto. I've also heard that they're going to take some violent parts out also. DAMN THAT SUCKS!!!

Who got the rights for it? Don't tell me it's '4kids'.

no, i don't think "4kids" have the right to naruto.
oh, and i think the dubbing to naruto is ok, but i do agree that naruto's dubbed voice is a little wierd mainly because the original is so different.

Viz has the rights to it.

I'm going to seperate dub and edits, because most fans somehow fail to realize that the dub and the edits are two different things, since you can simply pick up an unedited DVD release (once those come around).

The Dub is good in my opinion. Only voice I'm indifferent about is Naruto. I love the fact that the guy who played the leader of the supernatural trio from Requiem from the Darkness plays the 3rd Hokage.

As for Edits, this has so far been one of the better Toonami shows in terms of edits. They kept in the Sexy Jutsu, and the words Death, die, kill, killed, etc.

We can expect later episodes to have violence cuts, but no one is allowed to complain about that, because you have the damn DVD's. If you want to complain about edits on TV, go complain to the people who make the rules--you know, the people who Cartoon Network have to obey, the ones who set what can and can't be shown on American TV.

I don't actually think it's that violent (it's probably a PG-13 at worst). It might get a TV-14 or maybe even MA as opposed to its current TV-PG, but they wouldn't have to cut it. I've seen some pretty gruesome stuff on NETWORK TV, and those shows weren't animated either. Plus, if all else fails, they can get out of excessive censorship by placing proper warnings on it and getting an agreement from sponsors (or get sponsors who don't direct their ads to small children).

Well, I'd think Iruka getting stabbed by a giant shuriken would count as violent. Not to mention that later episide where Neji gets impaled.

Isn't that a little spoiling HolyWhippet?

I'm assuming the people on this board have seen the fansubs - Iruke getting stabbed is in the first episode. The Neji incident is much further on but still came out months ago.
