What exactly are you expecting? The meaning of life? It's just anime. Naruto is action/comedy/drama. Why do you consider the name of the character being the same as being ironic? The show is named after him.

If you don't like it, don't watch it.

Amen to you guys, its not supposed to be an Oscar award winning show, its anime for crying out loud!

Amen again, whats Ironic with having the title of the show the same as the main heroine, its been done like a million times! Besides its easier to remember!
What do you want it to be called , "The Chronicles of Konoha, the ninja, the witch and wardrobe."

Again AMEN!!!

By the way I think its better to watch it so u could understand it more!
Even kids in their preschool might get it once they've seen a couple episodes!

True, though with the manga you don't have any filler episodes and don't have to wait as long to see what happens next.

This show is just a slicker looking Dragonball Z with less mind-numbingly retarded plots but equally mind-numbing pacing. In the most recent episode shown on Toonami, the characters spent the whole episode standing around a room, that's almost as bad as "This planet will explode in five minutes" and having the five minutes span ten, twenty-six minute episodes.

 Thats it! I'm reading the manga first! The show cuts out too much! And I'm starting from the begining at Dragon Ball! :kaioken:

The Orichumaru & Hokage fight is painful to watch.

The idea is to be suspensful and dramatic I believe. In some cases they are giving background information that is meant to add more meaning to the fight. Take the Neji vs. Naruto fight - you got to see why he's got that kind of an attitude towards life.

hmmm, on one side it is correct that the series contains a lot of filler stuff, thats what all the long running series do, isnt it?
but on the other side it also has very deep moments, not just we kill the bad guy and the bad guy is definitely the bad guy.
most of the people have a motivation for what they do, not unlike every avarage villain who just wants to destroy everyone n everything!

In the manga, deep meanings and serious stuff make up almost every page, except the ocasional comidy, like farting dureing a fight.

most of the people have a motivation for what they do, not unlike every avarage villain who just wants to destroy everyone n everything!

And this is a big reason why I like this anime so much! :p
