just wondering,i thought hellsing was out before devil may cry,the point is if you play the game devil may cry you notice huge similarity between dantes 2 homemade guns and alucards. i dont like dante to be honest but its pretty clear one copied the other.

Devil May Cry was first released in the US on the 10th of August 2001. Whilst the Hellsing OVA was aired in Japan, as a broadcast on Fuji TV on the 10th of October 2001, finishing on the 16th January 2002. It seems that Devil May Cry is ahead of Hellsing by about two months yet before the anime there needs to be a manga to base it on (to my knowledge); which means in this case the design for Alucards Casull (silver gun) and jackal (black gun) originated from the first and then the second manga volumes. The Manga series began in 1997 and the first volume for Hellsing was released in Japan in September 1998 where Alucard allready has his casull. Then in volume two also first released in Japan, in December 1999, early on the manga Alucard recieves the jackal. The manga is at most, two years ahead of Devil May Cry and at the least including when it started production (mid 2000) Hellsing; allready completed the first two volumes with the weapons, is about half a year infront of Devil May Cry (Almost 3 and a half years from when Kohta Hirano first started on Hellsing).

So if anyone were copied, Devil May Cry would be the suspect however it would most likely be coincidence perhaps from popularity.
