I'm pleasantly suprised as this came sooner than I expected it to:

According to Japanese fan site Moon Phase, the Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid OVA "Warito Itoma na Sentai Nagano Ichinichi" (Romanization may be imprecise) will be released on May 26th.

I wonder if this will pick up right after then end of the Second Raid or if it will serve more as an overall recap of the series with some added scenes and dialogue?

It worries me that it's only an OVA. The previous three were all televised series', so one could expect at least a decent amount of eps but as an OVA, it's hard to expect anything more then 3-4 or maybe 6 eps.

With that assumption out of the way, it's also hard to imagine it having anywhere near the intense story as FPM:TSR. Though, more silly and insanely funny comedy like FMP:Fumoffu isn't something I'd hate on, heh.

In any case, more is more and I can say that I'm a bit more then ecstatic about it.

I just hope the ending doesn't suck as much as TSR's did.

You thought the ending sucked? Well to each their own. The ending of TSR isn't really the end but more or less the beginning of what is acutally about to come. All of the novels haven't been animated yet so it will be awhile before the Full Metal Panic saga ends. I thought the last episode was quite funny and fitting for Sosuke after all the crap that he had gone through throughout the series. There was some real redemption for him. He's finally growing into manhood. But again, his long hard journey is just beginning, which why I was able to enjoy the last episode so much because there is more to come, much much more.

Yes I thought the ending sucked, I also thought the previou episodes were great but being able to beat the end guy just because his dear Kaname is back is plain stupid and cliche. The fight scene was horrible too, I personall find it annoying when they go from one extreme (hero can't touch badguy) to another (hero wipes the floor with badguy). The twins were wasted and Gaul was brought back because noone cared about that madman.

I'm not even disappointed in the lack of development for Tessas brother since it is continuing in the novels.

The official Japanese Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid website has formally announced the May 26th release of the "Wari to Hima na Sentaichou no Ichinichi" OVA. The 30 minute long episode will cover a day in the life of Captain Teresa Testarossa. The bottom of the announcement page includes the first promotional image for the new anime.

Well, there you have it. I have always wanted more Teresa screen time, to flesh out more of her character... but not in a separate release like this that just teased me for a couple weeks thinking it'd be something great.

But, I can't say I'm upset with the news either.

Meh.

Here's the promotional image that's mentioned. (http://www.tdd-1.com/0401/index.html)

Man, I want to say I'm disappointed because it's branching away from the story, but on the other hand, more Full Metal Panic isn't a bad thing. I thought that the OVA would cover or add more to the ongoing storyline...I wonder how long it will be before the next series comes out.
