Why not just watch more episodes?
The short version - the two Elric brothers (Alphone and Edward) are both talented alchemists with Edward being a bit better. Their father left them ages ago (exactly why is not shown) and their mother dies from some illness. They decide to try and ressurect her using the powers of alchemy. Unfortunately, that is the one thing that alchemy cannot do. Alchemy cannot be used to alter a human being without dire consequences, unless you have a special item called the philosophers stone which greatly amplifies alchemical power. Because of the failed transmutation, Alphonse's entire body vanishes while Edward loses his leg. To try and save his brother, Edward uses alchemy to bind his brother soul to a nearby suit of armour. This works, but is another form of human transmutation so it costs him an arm.
Edward joins the State Alchemists, a state run military force which specialises in alchemy. Alphonse accompanies him everywhere although Edward convinces him not to join. Edward does so to learn more about alchemy and to try and search for a philosophers to restore their bodies. As he finds out more about the philosophers stone he discovers that it isn't quite what it seems and that the state alchemists aren't what they seem to be either. Someone else is pulling the strings behind the scenes and that someone has their own use for the philosophers stone.
It only gets better when you get into the second season.
I just finished watching all 51 eps and I want more!!!! :heh:

Then watch the movie
I would if I could find a .avi format... cause I don't have a DVD burner.

Then watch the movie
Don't watch the movie until you've seen the entire FMA series since you won't fully understand what is going on.
raynebc was talking to me...

Nokari, if you head on over to Boxtorrents, they have a .mkv Matroska format version. I don't remember where I got my avi version, but if you search around on some anime torrent sites you should find it without too much trouble. However make sure to read user comments, because one or more of the versions on the internet has bad subs or bad encoding or something.
By the way, I held out for a long time before I got a DVD burner, but now I can't believe I had to put up with my CD burner for as long as I did. It's well worth looking and getting a decent LiteOn or Pioneer burner for $40 if you can get one on sale or with rebates. Just make sure to get Nero, all other burning programs suck in comparison.
Yeah, I've got the Matroska version already, but I haven't been able to find an .avi. I'm just trying to find the avi version cause I don't have any money to spend on a DVD burner at the moment.
