does anyone else think that naruto is going to be like pokemon and kill itself off if not already dead? just watched from ep 1 and now im on 177 and after the big battle between 3rd and ooro, it seemed to be losing steam fast.

Naruto is currently running "filler" episodes. These are episodes written by someone other than the main author. They are there to fill in time until the main plot starts up again. I'm not certain how long this will be though. As you've noted, the filler episodes aren't a good as the main episodes. On the other hand, they don't have episodes which are 90% flashback or backstory.
o ic. but there will be for sure an end to filler episodes right?

I can't imagine why they'd go on indefinetly. I seem to recall reading that they want the manga to progress further first but I'm not sure how much further.

I look at Inuyasha after watching it for 60 episodes and think it lost its steam at least a hundred episodes ago.
Then I look at Naruto and realize its doing the exact same. Don't make fillers mR. Japanese man..... Just make good shows.

I'm reading the manga first, then the anime, so that my interest in it isn't destroyed by fillers! :D

HAHA!!! You found a loophole in the system. I would congratulate you for your genius but I'm in no condition too.

Well to be honest I've watched up to episode 150 and I'm still hooked on it, I can't describe why, I mean I wathced DBZ and I though that alot of it was dragged out, and I mean dragged. Naruto either has a few stand alone episode fillers, or the episodes are part of the main plot, sure one or two episodes I can recall had a few "flashback" episodes which took up alot of time, but then again I can recall several animes that did the same.
I'm just happy I aint bored with it so far.
well its not that its bad, its just that well, get along with the story line and stop bastardizing the special moves!!!
i mean r kenshin had quite a few filler episodes, but they were few and in between bigger story plots. (i did think tales of kyoto was the only good plot) not one lump of getting nowhere. but i guess i do like the idea of naruto working with the other teams, but find it wierd how genins can defeat these ninjas who can defeat jounins.

You are thinking in terms of power levels and fighting ability which is a mistake. The genin level is basically for those who have the skills required to operate in the field. The higher levels are for those who have demonstrated leadership abilities. That is why Shikamaru gets promoted while Neji and Naruto don't.
i know what you mean, but what i was referring to was when the sound 5 was defeated by the konoha team, cmon. seriously.

No, that made sense if you think about it. Choji only one by using his red food pill - which gives him massive, temporary strength but would have killed him if not for the Hokage. Neji is a combat genius, possbily the best the Hyuga clan has ever produced. Even he nearly died though. Shikamaru and Kiba technically didn't win. They'd managed to hold off their opponents for a while but were close to losing when the sand ninja came to the rescue. The same with that bone manipulating guy who went up against Naruto, Lee and then Gaara. The first two couldn't beat him and Gaara came dangerously close to losing as well.
