So any other news on this? How many episodes? When can we expect it?
I hope they keep up the level of quality like Second Raid.

What In said is all I know! If anyone else has information please tell us!
Let them finish the books first, I don't want another TSR where it was all good until the last 2 crap eps.

That is great. As long as they keep the story fun and interesting then I will be happy. A lot of times a show this far in goes of the rails a bit.

Nope, nothing as of yet.
Currently, 9 main story volumes exist.
The original 24 episodes were based on the first 3 volumes.
The Second Raid episodes were based on the next 2.
That leaves 4 existing main story volumes and I've read that 1 more main story volume (possibly the last) is being written.
In other words, the existing main story anime covers only half of the main story volumes.
The 10 existing side story volumes contain 55 stories
Fumoffu covered 21, leaving 34 unanimated.
In other words, Fumoffu covers less than half of the side stories.
The future looks bright.
And yes, this is my first post, meaning I registered here and waited several days for activation just so I could post this information.

Very interesting information there Sess. :) I'm personally looking forward to more Full Metal Panic anime as the ending of Second Raid hinted at something more in the story. If I were a betting man, I believe that we may hear something about another Full Metal Panic anime next year.
Depends how long Clannad goes for, could end up easily being 39-52 episodes long from what people who have played the game have said. This guy on Animesuki summed it up nicely
1-cour: CLANNAD fans commit ritual suicide. Haruhi fans chuckle and rub their hands in glee. FMP! fans cry in some dark forsaken corner.
.
2-cour: CLANNAD fans grit their teeth and sigh. Haruhi fans grit their teeth and wait impatiently. FMP! fans cry in some dark forsaken corner.
.
3-cour: CLANNAD fans erupt in joyous rapture. Haruhi fans start mass trolling the CLANNAD forums. FMP! fans cry in some dark forsaken corner.
.
4-cour: CLANNAD fans start pledging their first-born to KyoAni. Haruhi fans commit ritual suicide. FMP! fans cry some dark forsaken corner.
Munto fans? Munto fans wait for Hell to freeze over.
You know.... I never even thought about that. I've read that Shoji really liked how Kyoto Animation did Fumoffu and that being the reason who stuck with them for TSR. So if he's waiting on a chance for Kyoto Animation to do it again.... yeah, that could be an issue.
I notice on Kyoto Animation's Wikipedia page, a second season of Haruhi is mentioned, but it has no information about dates. Another season of FMP is not mentioned there, unfortunately. And if the information that started this thread is accurate, could that mean that Kyoto Animation is not involved with the next season of FMP?
They pretty much hinted that a 4th season of FMP is on the way in Lucky Star episode 22, Shoji himself wrote the script for that episode (and ep 5 and 12 iirc) and he wrote the script for Haruhi episode 12 too.

Okay, having watched a subbed version with a convo I didn't understand before, I think they just hinted at a new FMP series.
Kona-chan and Kagami are talking about the light novel series that's been put to anime 3 seperate times with a new book volume coming out soon(FMP from KyoAni, and Kagami is established as a FMP reader who's probably anticipating the new book that's coming out either this month or next?) and then Kona wonders when the 4th adaptation's gonna happen.
So I'm guessing either
a) they're working on it.
b) the director of Lucky Star from episode 5 on (who directed FMP: Fumoffu and TSR) is hinting that he wants to do another one.
No one really knows KyoAni's schedule apart from Haruhi season 2 is going to be right after Clannad.
Clannad could go from October to April (assuming 26 eps)
Haruhi April to July to September (assuming 14 eps again)
Than who knows, based on the information you provided they probably have enough material to give us a 39 episode long series of FMP or that could be split up into one Fumoffu style series and 2 TSR style series.
They could also go into the Clannad:Tomoyo After Story, maybe another Lucky Star etc.
