Post Water 7/CP9/Enies Lobby manga discussion

MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD!


So the awesome and very epic CP9 arc has recently finished in the manga. My favourite arc knocking off the Baroque Works arc from top spot.

Anyway quite a bit has been happening in the past few chapters of the manga after the crew fled Enies Lobby.

- Going Merry is gone. Sad indeed, sort of knew that would happen but I thought when they build a new ship they would use the head piece of the Going Merry as a sign of sorts.

- Looking forward to the new Treasure tree ship that Franky will build them. Still wondering if he will join the Straw Hats at the end or not.

- Luffy's grandpa makes an appearance, happens to be Marine headquarters vice admiral. Luffy still fears him making me wonder what his strength is like. Also wonder who this "friend" he sent Luffy and Ace to so that they could be trained into marines.

- The Four Emperors. Whitebeard and Shanks are two of them, I wonder who the other two are. Heck I'm still waiting for the rest of the Shichibukai to be revealed!

- We finally find out who Dragon is. Monkey D. Dragon. Luffy's father and revolutionary trying to topple the government. This I'm most interested in. I really wonder what his role and goal is later on.

- Nice to see Coby again.

Finally read all of the One Piece manga that is out. Truly spectacular! Things are definately going to be interesting from now on. I'm not so sure if Luffy and his crew can survive on luck much longer. Especially since he will have take on the four Emperors before he can even call himself "the Pirate King".

One fight I'm definately looking forward to again is the fight between Roronoa Zoro and Hawkeye. I'm really wanting that to happen again, but it will probably be much, much later down the line.

Also, it's strange but I can't view Robin the same way as I did before the whole CP9 incident. I never thought that she would end up being such a crybaby, but considering what happened to her in the past, it's understandable. It was weird as I viewed her as a very cool, calm, and collective woman.

Hmm....not really much more I want to say except that I see that this journey is going to get more and more dangerous for Luffy crew. Can't wait for the next arc to commence. :)

P.S. The meeting between Shanks and Whitebeard was insane!! :eek: I knew that Shanks was strong...but not this damn strong!! To take on a huge son of ....like that is crazy! He's definately got some experience under his belt and so does Whitebeard. The way that those two fight, I'm not so sure if Luffy would survive, but he has defied all the odds so far.

Makes me wonder just how much longer this manga will be....

It's a prerequisite for any and all Strawhat crew members to have a sad and angsty past. Anyway on the topic of Robin, so Aojiki has given up chasing her so does this mean we shall see less of him? Oh and I really liked him.

Oda teases us once more, just one chapter and that was all. He just leaves us wondering who came out on top between Shanks and Whitebeard and what's going to happen to Ace now he has encountered Blackbeard.

So yeah Thousand Sunny, awesome ship but I admit I miss Going Merry.

I really hope Ace survived his confrontation with Blackbeard, his devil fruit is just scary!

do you know all the different types of fruits that blackbeard talked about and what that actually means?

i can imagine that you have some kind of fruits where you can transform (like chopper) or where you become like the element (ace or blackbeard) but i didnt really understand blackbeard has the strongest fruit of all.
of course, if he touches his opponents, they lose their powers, but what else was it that makes him sooo powerful?

There are three types of devil fruits;

Zoan: the animal ones eg. Chopper
Logia: the elemental ones eg. Ace
Paramecia: random abilities so pretty much the rest of them eg. Luffy

Blackbeard's logia fruit has the ability to control gravity and space but I have no idea why it's able to drain other users powers. I think Oda just threw that in to make him a deadly foe (and so that it will be an awesome showdown) for the Strawhats (or whoever it may be that will face him).

everybody will get his own opponent i think, but i havent figured out everyones counterpart yet!

Well I think Zoro will face Mihawk as his final opponent no doubt, to prove to that he is the best swordsman, thing is Zoro is one katana short at the moment, he lost one against some marine devil fruit user who disintegrated it in Enies Lobby.

i would also like to see more of what is going on in other places.

One of the recent chapters did show life back at everybodies home and some (we got to see Vivi again yay). I just want to know what Buggy the clown is up to at the moment, ditto with Black cage Hinata.

i remember seeing some pirates after the sir crocodile arc, i think they belonged to the seven samurai, like crocodile but i think they were never mentioned again, were they?

Yeah the Shichibukai; besides Mihawk and Crocodile the other two that were revealed were Doflamingo, it seems he has the ability to control peoples movements and Kuma who carries around a bible.

lately they only spoke of 4 mighty pirates, that are opposing the world government and of course luffys dad and his people.
what could this all be about?


by the way, i wonder why one piece seems to be so unpopular in the forums?
it is such a great series, especially the manga is awesome and i never can wait to get my hand on the newest chapters!

They aren't mentioned again just to tease us, we'll end up forgetting about them and then BAMM Oda will pull them out of nowhere and some big epic event involving them will happen, making us very happy One Piece fans.

Yeah those Four Emperors were introduced, Shanks and Whitebeard being two of them, the other two are unknown at the moment (meaning more to be covered which means more chapters and volumes). One of the three great powers on the One Piece world, big threat to the Navy because if they unite they could counter the whole balance.

And of course we also found out that Dragon was Luffy's father and the revolutionary who's directly opposing the Navy and supposedly is the most wanted criminal in the One Piece world. We know his objectives but we don't know how he will fit into the paths of the Straw Hats in the future, I'm thinking he wants his son (Luffy) to join him to topple the world government. We know hardly anything about him, so again all this means is more that needs to be revealed and more volumes.

I'm saddened by the lack of activity here in the One Piece forum as well, but then again Animeboards has been really slow these past months.

i know that the activity these days is very low.
i wasnt active for a long time but hope to get back again.

it's especially sad that one piece is not more popular.
everything in that series is so exciting and so much fun.

the characters are great and they are so entertaining!
one of the best series ever!
i hope oda has a lot more stuff in store!

So Brooke, possible candidate for next Straw Hat crew member?

Well I mean he does play the violin and Luffy did say he wanted a musician but I think it's a bit too much to have a lecherous skeleton as a crew member. Let's hope he doesn't end up joining.

Wah whilst 448 isn't out there's a spoilers summary for it out, looks like Thriller Bark might turn out to be one epic arc because it seems one of the Shichibukai is on the island.
