Yu-Gi-Oh! GX ... pretty boring

hey has anyone watched yugioh gx? is it really that boring the whole series? the reason i liked yugioh was because of the mixture of japanese culture along with egyptian mythology...

but this has nothing :( .. i mean its okay watching the duals... but i miss the pharoah.

I don't care for it much myself. The story and characters in Duel Monsters were far superior. Like you said DM had the Egyption mythology which made the story exciting. GX is just duel after duel with no real story.

GX is for kids.

I always found it that way. My mum used to be annoyed when I was Yu-Gi-OH crazy, then she saw GX, thought it was the real thing and wondered where my wits went off to.

I saw a few newer episodes, no idea what series they were from, and now Yugi seems to have some sort of contraption stuck to its arm and which deals cards or something (like a Beyblade launcher). Regardless, I never did find the story engrossing - e.g. Yugi's grandfather being abducted and put in a castle, and Yugi going to save him with a bunch of friends .... not exactly original. The first series didn't seem to have a lot of Egyptian mythology - was that more in the later series?

GX is for kids.
And the other Yu-Gi-Oh! series aren't?
