Reminder for all Australian DBZ fans... according to our friend Kirben who just re-regitered...DBZ is returning to Cheez Tv this Tuesday :D

yeah normally i set it to record for in the morning... but usually try to get up to watch it anyway... my VCR is 14 yrs old and my tapes are crappy and fuzzy :(

They mentioned at the end of Cheez TV today (Monday) that new episodes of DragonBallZ would start tommorrow too. But there are still rumors over on the dragonballz.com.au forum that the new DragonBallZ episodes have been delayed so will just have to wait and see what happens Tuesday morning...

What the hell is up with the voices? I don't think one voice is the same....maybe Guru's is....

Krillin sounds like a gangster.....
Vegita has lost his cool voice.....
Gohan seems to have hit puberty early.....
The two Ginyu guys sound so stupid...is that an American version of the Australian accent I hear?
And as for Freezia...well, at least he doesn't sound like a girl :)

The new music and voices are due to the third season onwards of DragonBallZ been done inhouse by Funimation, the first 2 season were done by another company in Canada. I agree though that the new music and voices are just plain rotten. I think the music adds to the atmosphere (at least it helps dampen the blow that the crappy voices cause...)

Bah, I remember the original music (Japanese version). It was perfect ^_^;; And they actually had scenes with no music (for effect), rather than the new 'always have rock 'n roll music playing' type music they have. :)
I just can't wait 'till they get to the scene when Gohan first goes Super Saiya-jin 2, I remember that scene well. Tamashii tai Tamashii playing softly in the background. The bird flocking past. Juurokugou's death. Very touching scene, especially the speech made by Juurokugou.
And then the scene with Goku shown going Super Saiya-jin 3 for the first time. I believe that the voice actor (actress) had 4-5 minutes of one long scream during Goku's powering up (maybe my memory is failing and I'm exaggerating?).

I totally agree, the voices aren't as good.
jase sounds like an americian imitation of an australian. Berta just sounds awful, gohan does sound like he's reached puberty. but krillin sounds the most different compared to his original voice

Well it seems to be unanimous...Funimations voices suck.

I think they should quit be fore the lynch mob arrives and give the job back to the Canadians who did such a good job with the first round of episodes...

I generally like computer generated music in shows but I think the new music destroys the athmosphere and just doesn't suit the show at all.
Its a bit late to switch back to the Canadian company for the english translation of DragonBallZ now as Funimation have just finished making season 4 in the USA. I doubt they would ever redo that many episodes again (121).

But, I believe that season 3 was supposed to end with the first appearance of Trunks, I may be mistaken though.

Really? If it's the same voices I'm thinking of (Kulilen with a stuffed nose. Gohan with puberty. Roshi as the KFC guy), then I thought that Bulma's voice sounds more like an 'airhead', so to speak.

Yeah, Bulma sounded like an airhead. Her voice was MUCH more whiney than it was before, and she sounded like a real ditz.
