Rock Lee vs. Gaara
Naruto & Sasuke vs. Orochimaru

That's about it, Naruto doesn't really offer many memorable fight scenes to be honest.

I think he may surpass Guy in the long run, but I wonder as to his ultimate ability level ... can he truly compete in an absolute no holds barred contest or confrontation, or would he likely die from the more rounded "strong" characters of the series?

In a life or death confrontation ... Neji? Naruto? Sasuke? Gaara? Orochimarus henchmen (err henchpeople) ...

Neji - White Eyes
Naruto - Nine Tail Fox with Kage No Bunshin/Rasengen/Boss Toad/Will Factor
Sasuke - Chidori and equivalent speed
Gaara - Sand Salamander (nuff said)

or perhaps Shikamaru? (superior tactical and analytical skills)


Simply put, if the major players get serious - would Lee stand a reasonable chance? ... or is he simply a moral symbol of the hard work ethic?

You forget. Lee can unlock his chakra gates or whatever. In the filler episode where Lee and Guy have to go at max power to destroy the wooden palace thing, Lee is not just fast and strong. He has power pouring out of him and looks like a 1980s street fighter/DBZ style character.


Tsunade has her medic nin ability, and the rest is pure strength, as far as I can see. Lee could end up faster and stronger than her, with better technique. So there's no reason he can't keep up.

However, what Im wondering, is when we'll start to see a real divergence in power. Everytime a character falls behind, they go off and train and come back stronger. However, if Naruto is ever to be Hokage, he has to be clearly better than everyone else. So at what point do Neji etc fall behind?

Yep, he can release at least 5 of his Chakra Gates ... but at great expense ... and if this does not work, he is at a serious disadvantage - example his fight with Gaara during the Chunin Tournament ... if Guy did not step in Lee would literally be dead ... as in dead.

As for Tsunade, yes, I agree he is easily faster than Tsunade (example fight between the 3 Sannin ...Tsunades power was very impressive, but her speed was dismal.

Technically, if you look at absolute power, then the likes of Gaara and Naruto already dwarf the others. The fact that these characters embody elemental beings of great Chakra power put them at an advantage when the chips are down.

The other chacters are podigies and geniuses no doubt ... but keep in mind, that it took the 4th Hokage to imprision the 9 tail fox - at the cost of his life... add this latent power to what Naruto has/will learn and his will... and you have great potential in terms of power (note I did not say anything about his intellectual potential/capacity) haha.

What irritates me though is that the filler material for the anime shows naruto at a much lower level than the first story arc ... and he also is stagnating with the constant use of Kage No Bunshin. He is becoming a "one trick pony" with is shadow clones and Rasengen ... and if he is really down ... then he will be beg borrow or steal chakra from old 9 tails.

Here's what I think. Lee's chakra gates is his ace in the whole. Being no one else in the village can open then, I figure this tenique is derived from Taijutsu. I think in the time jump Lee can open more than five gate, I also believe that he has gotten stronger and faster, giving him more control over the gates. "What I hope" is that he will be able to open whatever gate he wants at will, giving him elemental tributes, or just completely mastering the first five as it has little effect on the main character from Tenjou Tenge. I would mind seeing him drunk while releasing the gate either! A$$ Whupin!!!

The only fight I ever thought was worth watching more than once was the one with Lee vs. Gaara. That fight was sooo insane, but it had a kind of sucky outcome :dance:

... after doing a review of the fights (during another marathon viewing run in preparation for the unfolding Shipuuden arc) I have gained a greater appreciation for the 2nd Sasuke vs. Naruto fight. It is awesome and contained a nice blend of action and pathos.

My question though, is did Naruto hesitate or shift his aim with the Rasengen?
... it almost seemed like he was aiming for the headband (in which case were did the Rasengen end up?) Sasukes Chidori hit home cleanly so it is understandable why Naruto was knocked out (actually almost anyone else would be dead) ... but was Narutos Rasengen a total miss? or did it dissipate when Sasuke hit his vitals?

... the way I see it is if Naruto could scratch Sasukes headband with a finger claw ... he should have delivered the Rasengen point blank into Sasukes face - in which case, it should have done equivalent damage (i.e. render Sasuke unconscious) thus a draw with 2 unconscious bodies ...

I think that this is a plot weakness due to the need for Sasuke to "win" the reason being:

1. Sasuke had to be able to run away to evade Kakashi - who would probably have been able to capture him after his Chakura depletion form his titanic fight <as depicted by his fatigue and "wobblyness" at the end.

2. Sasuke was diverted from making the iredeemable sin of killing his best friend in order to aquire the Kalaidascope Sharingan Eye ... in essence allowing for a chance at future redemption.

Do you think that Sasuke and Itachi will fight soon? It seem that way! What about Obito really being Madara? Who is hinted as being one of the strongest Uchia's. Last Jirya vs Pain??? I think this will be a great fight!!! Although I don't see J escaping alive. I think they will kill him off. Either he will die, or he will sustain injure's allowing him to live until the last few episode's.

All I know is that this most recent fight between Sakura/Chiyo and Sasori was epic.

My favorite would be 3rd Hokage vs Orochimaru because there was variety in the battle. There were taijutsu, summons, 1st & 2nd Hokage, elemental jutsu, and sword/staff play.
