I just watched this anime. The animation was good and the action scenes were great. BUT THERE WAS NO STORY! All we see is a girl named Saya chasing blood drinking demons around a US military base for 45 minutes. :skull:

They could have added an extra 30 minutes to give us a backstory on Saya so we can learn how she became the cold hearted bitch she is.

BTW, outside of a few story elements there is no relationship between this movie and the series Blood+. :nono:

The Last Vampire was never made into a series.

If you are talking about Blood+, the two are not related -- other than Blood+ borrowing some story elements from The Last Vampire. The two Sayas are not the same character.

I did just read that The Last Vampire was supposed to be the second part of a trilogy, but parts 1 and 3 were never made. Also a live action version is scheduled for release next year.

Blood+ is a great series. :cool: Adult Swim/Cartoon Network broadcasted it some time ago. There were rumors that they would rerun it, but it never came about. That may change in the future. I am hoping they will rerun it Saturday night/Sunday morning once reruns of Death Note are complete, which should be in about 3-4 weeks.

The Last Vampire would have made a much better series than a movie. With a series they could have gotten into the backstory. But as a movie, TLV makes my Recommendation - Avoid list. :sleep2:
