New Dragonball live-action movie...

I'm not sure why nobody has mentioned this yet, but 20th Century Fox is planning a movie based on Dragonball. Chow Yun Fat is set to be in it (http://www.tokyograph.com/news/id-2274) and Piccolo is apparently being played by Spike from Buffy...

Nostalgia goggles will make this worth the $9.25. I wonder how they will pull off the "Ka-me-ha-me-ha," it'll probably be cheesy. Just the way I like it :)

I have a feeling this is going to be terrible...
I'm surprised Chow Yun Fat is Master Roshi - I thought he'd be Goku (the action sequences could be like in Bullet-Proof Monk or something). Jackie Chan would make a better Master Roshi.

Apart from that, it looks like a typical Hollywood-style adaptation. A no-brainer designed for a cheap laugh/buzz, and little more. Which is what a lot of people say about Dragonball actually.

I remember Gohan going to high school in the anime, but not Goku. If this plotline goes ahead, I can really see the comedy and character development potential. For instance:

1. Goku pigging out in the canteen, to the amusement of his classmates.
2. Goku VS the school "hard nuts" (1 fight spread out over 2hrs, with 1hr 50mins of trash talking)
3. The high school romances of Goku
4. Goku fails his exams and gets a real roasting from his parents.
5. ......
